Perhaps the Administration has some film of fat boy and it could come up. What, of Teddy running away from another U-boat sinking?

What you what is an Intentionalist. A Strict Constuctionist is a Textualist in sheep's clothing.

"John Kyl would also make a fine AG, but the state is controlled by a RAT."
Besides, we need Jon Kyl to serve as Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee---he would be Specter's likeliest substitute.

I'll blow a gasket if Mineta DOESN"T LEAVE. Bad choice, bad decisions, stupid PC culture still at the TSA. Bye Norm -- don't let the cockpit door hit ya in the butt!

"They said Ashcrofts's resignation letter was dated Nov. 2nd. There had been reports that the strain of the job had affected his health."
No surprise to me on Ashcroft. I expected it. I thought that his health concerns were more well known. At least two months ago I recall reports on his failing health had made him pretty well decide in advance of the election that he would step down after Bush wins.
I have not seen any reports identifying the specific health concern. The burden of any of the cabinet offices would wear on any of us. I am grateful for his service to our country.

Pancreatis is really, really bad. That puts a new light on his resignation. Yes, it does. It also puts a whole different spin on the consequences of his leaving, and whether President Bush will want a more liberal AG to replace him.

LOL! I know, I know...still recovering from the election and have been away from FR! Silly me...;o)

Perhaps not as outspoken as Barbara was. :o) Sure wish she had been around for this election - she would have had a ball.

They've both done good work and Ashcroft has done it under a firestorm.

Just got to the thread so I don't know if this has been suggested, but, I think Pete Coors, who barely lost in Colorado senate election would make a good Commerce Secretary.

I'm sorry Joe, that was my fault. It was in reference to Evans wanting to come home to West Texas and a personal experience with that..
Please pardon my diversion from the resignation of Evans and Ashcroft.
