Ashcroft should be respected by us all..

Bush told him after 9/11 ...he never wanted to have another 9/11 to happen.

Ashcroft succeeded.

What do you mean, "we"?

Roe v. Wade won't change. It had and has major political support. There is no way President Bush will let that fight start again. Trying to start it up will lose and the losers will suffer, just as Kerry did for bringing the Vietnam War back up as an issue. Try to win it all and you'll lose it all.

But it is possible to keep things like Roe v. Wade from happening again. Given the existing federal bench, that means leadership, and leaders don't get much better than Guliani.

Don Evans is from Midland Tx and he is a great person and a close friend to President Bush.

Is he a conservative or more of a Business Wing moderate? The kind of guys who call themselves "economic conservatives"?

"Goodness! I missed that one. Care to elucidate :) "

Early after his appointment to AG, he got so offended by the bare breasts of the statue of Justice (you know - the blinded woman holding scales) that he spent about $8000 of our tax dollars to erect a curtain to shield this terrible site from the public's viewing eyes.

This kind of small mindedness only gives ammo to the whacko leftists who are convinced that everyone on the right is as close-minded as Ashcroft.

Met both Scalia and Thomas at events at my school. Both are eloquent, charming and brilliant men. However, I prefer Thomas because he is less wedded to the notion of stare decisis than Scalia. However, should the "worst" happen and Scalia be Chief Justice, I'll still be busting out champagne.

I'm going to go way out on a limb and be the first one to mention U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald, not the former Peter Fitzgerald senator but the prosecutor. By all accounts he is a rarity in that he's clean and honest.

The only downside is I don't think he has wrapped up the Plame Name Game investigation

I DO respect him a LOT! And I'm thankful that he's served our President well. He and Don Evans.

My feelings, for what they're worth...is we've all worked VERY HARD to elect good conservative people last week. America responded. We need to not let anyone in who's even a little bit waffly on things.

I want strong borders.
I want gun ownership NOT messed with.
I want the pro-life movement to continue...infants, sick and the elderly.

Ashcroft probably uttered the word that some kind of border security was needed, and he got axed.

Every party needs a pooper

Don Evans is an oil man and has a great company in Midland. I say WELCOME HOME, Mr. Evans... we don't blame your for wanting to come back to West Texas... God's Country.
