Rush is floundering. He cannot find and hold a position on Specter and sounds utterly incoherent. This post is to counter Rush's rare defalcation and remind his listeners of the importance of acting now to eliminate Senator Specter before he assumes the Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee and does great mischief to any pro-life nominee.
We do not need another Borking of a good and honest nominee by this unprincipled and mercurial RINO.
Bork Specter.
Good one! Thanks!
Rush has done more for conservatives than anyone else. It amazes me how if he doesn't agree with some people 100% of the time than he's not good enough. He's not off his game nor does he sound like he's back on pain pills like somebody was moronic enough to say. I also have no problem hearing about there lives outside of the radio. Get real and grow up.
Plus, Sen. Specter will be doing a lot of the dirty work behind the scenes. Besides, he owes too much to Planned parenthood et al to make them mad.
Does Rush get money from Soros too?
They can't get away with blocking an Hispanic nominee. They will be crushed in 06, if they do that. Bush has 4 years to make their lives miserable. They can make it easy by giving him what he wants, or they can pay dearly by refusing. In the end, they will lose either way. Bush has all the cards.
:-)
We'll see. The fact that they blocked Estrada stayed of the radar. Blocking Clarence Thomas didn't hurt them. I think they will take it as far as they can.
They already did.
Well .. I don't know what Rush you're listening to .. but it's not the Rush I'm listening to.
I happen to agree with Rush. Frist and the WH could have shut down this controversy days ago, just by publically saying Specter was their man, and they have not. Why?
My guess was pretty similar to Rush's (which I posted here on FR a couple of days ago) .. it appears the GOP leadership are just letting Specter twist in the wind; while Specter continues to give his assurances that he will not have a litmus test for judges. Since I suspected Specter was trying to send a message to the dems that he was on their side .. it's become publically unpopular for Specter to do so. The dems ace in the hole has folded to public pressure.
I agree with Rush .. this will all work out. Specter has certainly found out by now that the public is not going to stand still for him favoring the liberal side in any way.
And .. we must remember .. this is NOT a democracy (or MOB rule). This is a REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC. And .. if anybody was paying attention, the WH (via Rove) said on Sunday they had received assurances from Specter that he would support the President's nominees, and the President was ready to accept Specter's word. If Specter doesn't keep his word .. Frist can remove him from the chairmanship.
Rush also brought up another good point. The rules of the Senate appoint chairpersons on their length of service. Whether I agree with that or not .. there isn't much I can do about it except complain (which would fall on deaf ears with my 2 dem senators).
Also .. Rush pointed out that since the repubs are in charge of the Senate, they can CHANGE THE RULES and allow more repubs on each committee .. which would help a lot. Why isn't anybody starting an email campaign to support doing that ..?? Probably because it's easier to whine about ONE SENATOR than it is to appeal to ALL OF THEM to change the rules.
And they paid. They won't do it again. The stakes are getting higher, and they realize now that they made a mistake. They were actually pretty stupid to draw the battle lines where they did. They blocked a circuit court nominee and showed their hand. The Hispanic community is not going to believe them if they do it again.
It's his last go round in the Senate, I think all bets are off as to who he owes. That initself makes his chairmanship a little less palitable.
Well maybe if Pat Toomey had enough support to win the GOP Primary in Pennsylvania, this wouldn't be an issue, now would it?
I prefer Michael Savage. He's always all about the listeners.
Okay well I like rush however you also have to know Rush's secret... you see he says both sides of the issue then enphasises one side one time and the opposing side later in the show, then when the event has happened he just plays the clip of which ever side he commented on and says... see what I told you?
I worked a defalcation case once. The perp got 5-8 years in the Big House and made restitution.
Maybe if Rush could emulate Savage, he could someday come close to matching his audience. :-)
