(AgapePress) - A freelance writer from Virginia is protesting what he calls the Islamic indoctrination of grade school students in one of the country's largest public school districts.
During the ongoing month of Ramadan, children in the third through fifth grades in Herndon, Virginia, schools are being taught about the Muslim holiday and about other Islamic customs and practices. With the help of so-called "multicultural trainer" Afeefa Syeed," the young students are reciting Muslims' sacred words and imitating their faith practices." Prayer rugs are given out, Islamic prayers are recited, and as columnist Dave Gibson recently commented, "a happy face is put on the most dangerous religion the world has ever known."
Gibson, who writes for AmericanDaily.com, is outraged that the Fairfax County school district prohibits recitation of the Lord's Prayer but encourages students to pray to Allah. "We have chased those Christian ideals out of our school system, and now we're bringing in Muslim ideals. It's most troubling that these children are not being given the whole story -- the true face of Islam."
The conservative columnist says secularists who want God removed entirely from schools are also noticeably silent about the Islamic indoctrination occurring in the Virginia public school system. Where, he wonders, are the American Civil Liberties Union lawsuits and the public indignation so often unleashed on any expression of Christian faith in the public schools?
"What angers me," Gibson remarks, "is the ACLU has not been heard from on this. I can guarantee you, if someone had brought in Christian Bibles or wanted to teach about Judeo-Christian beliefs, the Herndon school district would be sued immediately."
Instead of showing indifference toward the brainwashing of their children, Gibson says Herndon parents should be pulling their kids out of the city's schools and suing the school district over its Islamic indoctrination program. Jack Dale, chief of Fairfax County Schools, declined to comment
Woo Hoo!!!!
So did anyone see the little animated clip on Letterman last night? A Charlie Brown Ramadan.
I just went to the site but didn't find anything listed that would support the class they are studying - if you find it let us know
Christians should demand equal time.
Debating Muslim Re-Education

In our October 20th issue, we ran Alexis Amorys lead feature Muslim Re-Education. Below is a response written by Afeefa Syeed, followed by Ms. Amorys rejoinder. The Editors)
"Alexis Amory has sorely misrepresented what I do and the purpose of our presentations about Ramadan in local schools."

There is nothing wrong with teaching about the history and practices of various religious movements. But forcing kids to practice, and recite verse, is scandalous!
The left establishment has made it near impossible to teach the history and practices of religion. But when it's a PC minority religion, the ACLU and People for the American Way are quiet. Scandalous hypocrites!
"What angers me," Gibson remarks, "is the ACLU has not been heard from on this. I can guarantee you, if someone had brought in Christian Bibles or wanted to teach about Judeo-Christian beliefs, the Herndon school district would be sued immediately."
Thats the simple truth. There always seems to be some BS rationale for teaching our children everything under the sun as long as it's not Christian, Patriotic, or just plain decent.
This country was FOUNDED on JUDE CHRISTIAN BELIEFS, we have been TOLARANT LONG ENOUGH !! It's time to become the Raving Lunatics that we are accused of being !! Homosexuality, Lesbianism and now ISLAMIC FUNDAMENTALISM, being taught to our children instead of the Christian values of the parents. Time to go Beserk!!
I certainly hope the Christian Coalition Lawyers and parents are on top of this.
What can I say? Gibson's absolutely right. Maybe suing is an option, but seldom am I in favor of lawsuits. Really, the way to stop this sort of nonsense is at the parental level. If the parents do not hold the school and the school board accountable for this sort of behavior, it will continue.
Read the articles - thanks
Ramadam is a religious holiday to Muslims, Christmas is a religious holiday for Christians - if Christmas can not be celebrated in schools than neither can Ramadam!
Herndon is the town where all the illicit money-laundering Islamic "charities" were located, and IIRC there's a new large Saudi funded mosque there (or was that Leesburg).
I wouldn't be at all surprised if someone's on the take for this decision, because it hasn't happened elsewhere in NoVA.
At that site you will find information about which textbooks are a problem, sample pages from the textbooks, news articles confirming the information, testimonials, etc. Here is another good link..

I never thought public schools were such a good idea.

Oh, Please. This is nothing worse than the Christian verses, prayers and customs I was taught in my public school. My parents protested but were called "complainers" by my teachers and school staff. I sang "The First Noel" and lots of other very un-secular songs in the school choir at Christmas and Easter concerts.
Stop your complaining about "PC" parents. Maybe they are just parents who want their kids to have a whole conservative worldview that includes non-Christians.
