Dear Arlen,

For your own good, please take a look at what happened to your buddy Tiny Tim Daschole, and draw the proper lesson.

You can always be next in the long line of the self-important who begin believing in their own indispensability.

Sincerely,

A Happy Thune Voter

"I resent people like Pat Robertson, Ralph Reed, and Pat Buchanan trying to give litmus tests to determine who can be a Republican candidate.""

But it's alright for you to have a Litmus test, right Senator? YOUR LITMUS TEST WOULD NOT ONLT EXCLUDE RICK SANTORUM, WHO SAVED YOUR RECENT RE-ELECTION BID, BUT ALSO PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH!!!!

To: GeneralHavoc; All

I called Saxby Chambliss' office today. The lady answered, and before I got farther than saying I wanted to express my opinion, she said " Let me guess. Sen. Specter??"

Bwahaahahahaha!!

They are feeling the heat.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed...

The leftie press loves causing divisions within the GOP by exploiting wedge issues and wedge Republicans... they must love it when they snap their fingers and we jump :-(

When I moved from PA I thought I had gotten rid of this guy. AGH! We could have had Tommey- But President Bush saved Specter. WHY? One of the four things I disagree with the President over still.

Yes, but his opinions are still the same.

There are very good reasons for both spots on the GOP ticket to be pro-life.

This last election proved that the key to winning was an enthusiastic and jazzed up base that turned out in droves. It wasn't swing voters that won the election, it was turnout of the true believers.

Putting someone on the ticket who is pro-choice makes as much sense as putting someone on the ticket who wants to raise taxes, increase massive government handouts, restrict gun ownership, or slash defense spending.

We need ALL the parts of the coalition to be excited in order to win.

Specter is an idiot to think that he could have won under the GOP banner in 1996, and he would be even more of an idiot today.

I am not questioning your veracity. I would like it to be real but you have to admit that I would expect a form letter by a senator to look more professional. What bothered me about this document is the header (it is uneven and looks like it was pasted to the document).

What also bothered me is if these points were put forth by Specter, why have we not heard about this before? Why would the President back him up knowing that such an incendiary document like this was out there? Why is there no signature?

I just wanted to approach this with a grain of salt.

So far, Specter has been loyal, and the President rewards loyalty with loyalty.

If Specter does not return Bush's loyalty in the last election and crosses him on judicial nominations, Bush will drive him out of the party the way he did Jeffords. And the GOP is a better place for Jeffords being gone.

The leftie press loves causing divisions within the GOP by exploiting wedge issues and wedge Republicans...

The term "wedge issue" is useful to marginalize an issue, and to marginalize those who have have strong positions regarding that issue. But you know that.

While it is tempting to party leaders to label abortion as a "wedge issue," (so as to avoid having to deal with it) it is far from a marginal issue.

I noticed it yesterday even before Rush theorized the possibility it may be a media job to get us wedged into a sizable number they can handle.

In other words, I want government out of our pockets and out of our bedrooms.

Sounds like a Libertarian to me.
