So I got home today, wanting to toast our illustrious President and his smashing re-election. Didn't get to last night.
Started with a bottle of Iron Horse bubbly, from Sonoma County. Wife happy to celebrate with me but not much of a drinker. Drank 5/6ths of the bottle myself.
Beloved wife has roasted chicken stuffed with wild rice and wrapped in bacon, with a raspberrry/chipotle sauce, waiting for me. Decided the fruit called for a Pinot Noir.
In honor of our good friends the Aussies, opened up a Yarra Yering Pinot from 1999. Lovely cherry bouquet, a little more smoke and wood and tannins on the palate than I expected from a Pinot. That's OK, it stands up to the chipotle peppers.
Again the dear wife does not hold up her end, and I have cheerfully polished off 3/4 of the bottle myself. Bottle now empty. Considering a glass of tawny port or a Vin Santo before toddling off to bed.
I am in a VERY good mood and glad I am not on duty tomorrow.
So how are YOU celebrating this outstanding, crushing victory?
Dang it, I wanted to do that too!

I drank a tons of margaritas with my ex-wife and kissed her a lot too! Go figure!!!
Pork rinds and Ripple(red)</p>
had my first Arturo Fuente last night(don't recall the name-a maduro of some sort-was about $9.50 as I recall)bought with the fervent hope of a stunning victory by W...
...'twas fantastic combined with my Beam and W's awesome performance (and helped me to ignore the MSM ninnies)
I took a 16 oz. plastic cup, and filled it about 2/3rds of the way with Mayfield 2% milk, then topped off the remaining 1/3rd cup with Mayfield Choclate Whole milk.
Man, it rocked.
No time like the present!
Well then, guess your wife gets to call all the shots.....get it? "shots"?
SWEAT is SOOOOOOOOOOO Gooooooood sometimes.......today is a gooooooood day!
Well I guess I have to now! Michelob Ultra for me, only a few carbs......
Buddy! ;-)
Vodka and orange......
Stuck at work, sitting at a computer, tiny work area with a bunch of other people in a big room. They are all sitting in front of computers too.
Ahh, get yourself a real beer. We can only make a toast like this once every four years! Here's to ya!
I too, bought some wine; and one of my daughters had a glass. I asked her if she wanted some "Victory drink"; and she said: "Alright!"! We both like "Rose" type wines particularly. She went after work to a party at an old friends house. Everyone there except her was a Democrat. She felt like the "odd man(woman)out"! It was funny though. She said they had bought Champagne and "bitter, bad beer". The first was for if Kerry won. The other was for if GWB won. I asked her if they enjoyed their beer; and she said she was pretty sure they drank the champagne anyway! Maybe they weren't that bummed out!
She said they teased her, and gave her #%^& because she seemed to be the only Republican there! It was all in good fun; as the girl was an old friend that she doesn't see often. But my kid was the only one, as it turned out, to have a reason to celebrate!
I don't drink anymore but if I did I'd be swimming in a pool of 21 year old Glenlivet Single Malt. Cheers!
Hey CJ! Well, I finally did it. I voted for George W. Bush. I had the yard signs, the hat, the stickers. And needless to say I am very pleased, relieved, and proud of the result. I'm looking forward to the next four years. I am very interested in what happens to the SCOTUS particularly. John Kerry truly was unfit for command, and were it not for GW's disastrous performance in the first debate, he probably would have won in a landslide.
:-))))
