NEW YORK - If President Bush (news - web sites) wins re-election on Tuesday, you'll see Patti LaBelle with reddened eyes on Wednesday.
The R&B diva, an ardent supporter of Democratic nominee John Kerry (news - web sites), said she "can't even think about it" happening.
"I'm going to cry a lot, but I know that's not going to happen, because too many people have come out of the sleep that they've been in," LaBelle told The Associated Press last week.
She acknowledges that she was in a sleep herself, as far as voting was concerned, for years.
"I've not always been a voter," the 60-year-old singer said.
"I started when (former President) Clinton was running for man of the year," she said, laughing. "As far as I'm concerned, I wish he could have stayed another eight."
She certainly doesn't feel the same way about President Bush.
"As far as we're concerned, people are accepting a phony president," she said. "Having those kids go over and getting killed (in the war in Iraq (news - web sites)) ... I don't approve of that at all."
Once she starts weeping I want to be there to shout "... And you're a Has-Been too!"
" Hollywood Liberal."
Wouldn't that be a "Motown Moron"?
You'll love Paris...
Well, considering Patti made her name with a song about a hooker, I guess it's no surprise that she loves Slick Willie.
Once and for all.... SHUT UP AND SING!!
Never mind. Just shut up.
Always a good move to trumpet your stupidity while you are slipping into obscurity.
Get out the Kleenex, Patti! When will these people realize that freedom IS NOT free...perhaps she would rather have her mansion overrun by terrorists! I bet she would swing the other way. Comments such as this is a slap in the face for those of us that have PROUDLY served our country! Note the name of her book...go live in a 3rd world country and see if you could survive there with your diamonds dripping off your neck. Urghh!!!
Typical reaction from the ones still in the democratic plantation. She's overrated anyway.
WHO cares what political thoughts this has-been thinks? A waste of bandwidth!
OH NOES!!! OH NOES!!!!
I just don't think I could ever live with myself if I were to make Poor Patti cry!!
We have to stop this hateful warmongering Bush-liar before Patti gets sick to her pretty little stomach.

And thanks to the skills of a plastic surgeon she has accepted a phony nose.
Anyone keeping a list of BUSH-supporting celebrities?
Patti, Patti, Patti. Do you know who Goebbels was? Axis Sally? Lord Haw Haw???
How about Baghdad Bob?
Why would you accept the "accounting" of deaths from Micheal Moore and his ilk?
Over 1/3 of those who "died" in Iraq did not die in combat (car accidents, electrocution, pneumonia, heart attack, etc.). A sizable number did not even die in IRAQ! They died in Kuwait, Germany, and in the most obscene abuse of reporting, crossing the highway in KANSAS. Now the Washington Post pruned this "Bush's Fault" death from their list but they left on another death where a man was crushed by a forklift in Kuwait; I see no difference between the incidents. Neither was a combat injury; both served in the Iraq war.
The left (and media) were pushing for "1,000 deaths" before the election. And they "claim" to care about the troops. Only for propaganda purposes. See my profile page and Michael Moore has made it clear that he wants to see us lose this war (quote is posted there with link).
Kerry's lesser-known sister Kerri LaBelle feels uneasy, too...
Another aging personality needing attention. Ho Hum.
"It's so much better watching men, women and children getting slaughtered right here at home," Patti added. /sarcasm
