Please tell us you are not in a heavy republican area.

I voted this morning in Downtown Miami (Brickell) there you have a mix of Cuban-Americans, White Professionals and UM students. I would say about half were voting for Kerry (mostly students and some professionals i.e. Lawyers). Move-0n.org had some signs and they were offering "Democrat" bottled water not Republican water from the polluted Biscayne Bay (This is what some aging hippie wrote on a poster board). I am not sure if that is legal, but hey it is Miami-Dade.A Freeper brought up a good point on another thread, saying the Democrats will wish they never challenged Florida because it is harder to add additional ballots with the electronic machines. Remember when they caught that guy in 2000 with the Votomatic machine in his car and all of the blank ballots???
Finally, I have a friend of mine who works at MIA and employs a lot of Haitians. He says they are really angry at Clinton and the Democrats for the mess he made with Aristide and supporting are supporting Bush. The lack of black voter excitment about John Kerry will affect this race here in Florida

What worries me are absentee, early and provisional voting.
From what I hear, one can vote early, then vote again on
elecyion day, and they have no way to check!
Anyone know more about this?

This part of Florida is solidly George W. Bush country (he won 60% of the vote in Polk in 2000). My voting went off without any incident or problems at all, and I may have waited all of 5 minutes to get my ballot. Turnout didn't seem to be inordinately higher than it has been in past elections. That is not the greatest news for the good guys!

Lines are long....some African Americans walked out off the lines and where confronted by the NAACP officials...some ugly words...the African Americans left...saying "AH...it's really not that important to vote this year." Kerry is not exactly the "Second Black President"
To: WOSG
this is wrong .. 'our' side should NOT be doing that. Call me a cynic, but this sounds like something Democrats would do to energize their base.

Voted in N. Orlando. Proably a half hour - 45 minutes wait. Saw some voters that likely voted Kerry. Crowd, upon first impression, was largely Republican. The voting was very well managed. No butterfly ballot, no electronic, it was a 'scan' type technology where we used a marker to complete an arrow next to our choice. Then, we sent the ballots manually ourselves through the vote counter. Seems like a great way to operate the vote.
On the way out, passed a freaky looking Move-On PAC guy, holding a sign that said "Did you vote?" My girlfriend said " Yeah, for the RIGHT guy, not YOUR guy" He did not comment.

Should go to the polls dressed in a soccer official's uniform and pace off the distance as they do for the denfenders forming a wall against a free kick.

From the lovely Broward County area(direct from my son):
1) Automated SuperOfElections message plays DemAd then says "Your ballot is in the mail".
2) Ballot never shows up in mail
3) Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church has it's exterior walls spray-painted with Skerry propaganda(10/30/04)
4) Voting location changed 3 times in the last 2 weeks by incompetent SOE
5) Post Office lets Absentee Ballots sit undelivered "erroroneously"
6) M. FatMoore shows up to spread more verbal venom
I'll update as the day goes on.

My theory is that Bush supporters have a quiet resolve, and don't feel the need to wear their allegiances on thier sleeves. I honestly believe this is the case.

Please help get the word out that if the networks make an early announcement (before the polls close in the panhandle) about who wins Florida, Republicans need to keep voting. Even if they project Bush to win, gotta get to the polls.

I'm in Northwest Florida, in the Niceville area and I voted last weekend. I'm at work right now and folks are starting to file into work saying that the lines are long and some left saying that they'd come back later. This is definitely Bush country but I have to say that I've seen more Kerry signs than expected. There weren't nearly as many Gore signs in 2000. I'll be checking the lines when I go to lunch. Keep you posted!

The id verification process at my precinct was very thorough; you'd have to be a complete horse's *ss to have any problem with it.

My wife and I voted early in Okaloosa County in the Florida panhandle. Our county gave Dubya 74% of its vote in 2000 (heavy active/retired military presence, plus bible belt). The Supervisor of Elections is projecting an 80% turnout, versus 70% in 2000. Call-ins on local radio program regarding lines at precincts say the lines are long this morning, some longer than anyone can remember. Looks like the conservative base is turning out in droves here.

Call the police and have them arrested!

No in my precinct... If you early voted of voted absentee, you were clearly marked off the voter roll today and not able to vote... I'd say 1/3 of my voter book was marked off...
