(Miami) Okay...My wife is at a precinct in Northern Hialeah/Southern Opalocka (She is pushing for the construction Bonds for Dade County and of course working as my Mole........)
That area is 50/50 really....you have alot of middle class Cubans and middle class African Americans....
The NAACP is out front observing....
A Republican Poll Watcher told my wife that he can't figure out where the Dem GOTV is...they (NAACP) were expected to be at the opening of the polls with a Bus load and he was there early to wait for them....(They have not arrived...and the NAACP folks said that they will not bus in to that station.
Lines are long....some African Americans walked out off the lines and where confronted by the NAACP officials...some ugly words...the African Americans left...saying "AH...it's really not that important to vote this year."
My wife has been talking to a Black Lady that is working at the precinct and they got around to talking about who they were voting for and the Black Lady said that she was voting for Bush because "He's been okay...and I don't like Kerry, although Bush shouldn't have been there in the first place cuz Gore won Florida." For some reason...Al Gore is loved by African Americans...there is NO energy FOR Kerry in the African American community.
BTW, locaL radio (WDBO 580 am) reported that the ACLU has thousands of video cameras around the State hoping to capture voting irregularities.
It's funny isn't it? And he's at his most maniacal when he slips into the MLK routine.
I live in an integrated precinct, heavily Dem.
I remarked last week that there were not the Kerry signs in the yards like I've seen for other Dem candidates in the past.
I'm wondering if the black churches in our area, have had a real impact. When GWB came to our area to rally, a local black pastor gave the invocation. Some fundamental black preachers would not endorse a vote for the Dems because of gay marriage.
Anyhoo, my sister just got back from our precinct. She said there just wasn't that huge a turnout (she was there by 7 and out by 8), and by 8 o'clock the line was already shortening.
Of course, early voting had to help some because I still believe a lot of the early voting was from Dems who were scared they'd be disenfranchised because they believed the Dem hype.
I'm going over at 10:30, so I'll check back in with a report.
I forgot how good it feels to vote. Right up there with sex.
Jack*ass Harris is on the Glenn Beck show yapping about how long the lines are, how close the race is. I don't know what this guy smokes, but I think he needs to lay off for while.
Did you call your local GOP headquarters? If not do it now. This is illegal and they have numbers to call to get people down there.
Not a good thing ...
55 minutes to vote in N. Pinellas County shortly after 7:00... Our precinct in 2-1 Republican registrations... Everyone was friendly and patient...
Pretty peaceful at precinct 46 in Sarasota. Just a few Moron.org/P(UKE)AC outside looking stupid.
Saw MoveOn PAC signs at my polling place - didn't you used to have to keep signs and junk a certain distance from the polling place?
I think the sun would have to turn red - but off topic. My wife has to deal with Mikulski quite often. She is THE NASTIEST woman she has ever met. Has a 6' 4" body guard everywhere she goes and uses him as a coat rack. LOL !!!
A moment later this little thing, looking like a vintage Mack truck, plows through the line (amid polite people apologizing) lugging a cooler and a tin of really nasty looking brownies covered with plastic wrap.
She found her way around the counter with the election officials. I am thinking to myself, who the hell is this?
A minute or so later it dawned on me, "poll watcher. for the dems, no doubt."
I believe that most black people are hard-working Christian patriotic people -- but whom most have been sold a bill of plantation goods by the Dems.
Other than pander to a few black churches in the last month what has Kerry done to attract black voters?
Hey neighbor!
Spring hill here, voted absentee last week
Moveon was in front of mine Allentown, PA - Also in Mcungie PA where my parents voted.
Another neighbor!
Yea, Pasco is a pretty rural county, I'd imagine it leans Bush..
Reporting here from Naples--
SOLID bush country and everyone I know is voting. The Republicans organizations have been working around the clock over the last 2 weeks convincing everyone to get out and vote. Collier County will go to BUSH bigtime
you know, I didn't even where my Bush/Cheney T-Shirt because I didn't want to "campaign inside the polling place."
My theory is that Bush supporters have a quiet resolve, and don't feel the need to wear their allegiances on thier sleeves.
I plan on voting later today, like 6:00 PM. Hopefully the lines wont be too long by then.
