As I and many of my fellow expatriates are often hard pressed to get any non-biased information from the media (we are often stuck with CNN-International!!), I have decided to start this thread in the tradition of the Operation Iraqi Freedom Situation Room threads. I hope this meets with the approval of Jim & John and the Admin guys . . .
The purpose of this thread is to be a place to collect information from all sources into one area for discussion. Specific threads for specific topics and cross linking are highly encouraged.

"I woke myself up about 3 hours early to get to the polls before the line. But that's cool because I was having a weird alien dream."Threw my coffee out after reading that, I'm ready to go.
My employees are voting for Bush today so I told them to go to the polls first then come in to work when they're done. Let's roll baby!
To: An.American.Expatriate
The polls open in about an hour and a half in Mississippi, where President Bush is expected to defeat Kerry. It's raining heavily right now, and there's a 100% chance of more throughout the day. I'll be at the polls to cast my vote when they open at 7:00 a.m.

"one of TeRayZa's foundations donated a large sum to the Imus
Ranch for kids with cancer...real surprise vote eh ?"
Call Imus and claim his vote was bought....

Queens turnout at dawn was mild. However that crew was clearly learning as they go along. I wouldn't want to navigate that line later today.
Now to call my friend Mark in Jersey, and get his ass up. His state is important.

I remember that four years ago, the MSM projected Florida for Gore at 8pm EST; even though voting was still taking place in the panhandle which is in the Central Time Zone. I fully expect the MSM to try the same thing this year. So we should take special care, and urge our Republican friends in the Florida panhandle and elsewhere to ignore the MSM dirty tricks and GO VOTE!
(P.S.: I voted absentee for Bush/Cheney two weeks ago so I'm set. Here in MA, Mitt Romney and the 'pubbies mailed out absentee ballot application forms that were pre-addressed to the clerk's office in whatever city/town the voter lived in. That made it really easy/convenient, and I think the G.O.P. should do this kind of thing nationwide in the future!)

HERE'S A NEW HAMPSHIRE UPDATE:
The First two locations in America to vote at midnight tonight, Hart's Location and Dixville Notch voted in favor of George W Bush! Dixville, it was Bush 21 to Kerry 9. So far, if you combine both communities, Bush leads Kerry by about 15-16 votes.

Throughout the day political insiders will be getting the 'real deal' numbers and projections and will be whispering it to the media. Those who can watch the talking heads today should be looking for clues and hints by the demeanors as to what's happening.
For example if Carville is keeping his trash can empty it's good sign. Also a good sign is if Judy Woodroff's mascara is running.

Off topic - but why are you an ex-patriate?
To: ChadGore
Your map and your text conflict. The text says Michigan closes at 7, but the map says Michigan closes at 8.
