This is ridiculous. I heard that the judge overseeing this case once represented Daschle. Coincidence?
If you want the link, I'll provide it in a minute. My computer is acting up.

Hmmmm? Can't the repubs ask for the recusal of the judge .. I think that would be appropriate - seeing as how he and the plaintiff have a previous relationship.

I heard earlier that Daschle got him the appointment. I have no independent evidence.

"He said that poll watchers would "roll their eyes" and make a "negative face" at times and that, in his opinion, this constituted "intimidation" of voters." I hope the judge has the balls to roll his eyes and make a negative face and immediately dismiss this nonsense.

Lawyers are the Dems' warriors, and law suits are the biggest weapons in their arsenal.
How are we going to neutralize and defeat them conclusively?

That's it the democrats have gone to far now. Daschle is done. This is going to be percieved as being a cry baby to most.

Dear people of South Dakota, Please, when coming away from the polls tomorrow, Roll your eyes and make "negative faces". Show it to the reporters and cameramen.
Bury Daschle's political career in a mockery of his own contempt for the law!

The great irony here is that in the last election, Thune was cheated by vote fraud, and it was ok with the Dems. Daschle may realize, too late, that it may have been better for him to have sacrificed the position in the 2002 election, becuse by 2004 the cheating tactics would be known and he himself would be prevented from using those same tactics. Strategery - Daschle lacks it. And like all good RATS, he runs to the courts to tell them to make sure he is elected.

What a wussie. If this isn't a metaphor for the Democrat party's response to every adversity, I don't know what is. I hope he gets his ass kicked up around his neck.

Still no decision..that I can see. I cannot imagine the judge can rule for Daschle on this. OTOH I cannot imagine why he didn't recuse himself. What a humiliating way for this weasel to go down.

From daschlevthune.typepad.com:
UPDATE: From the other end of the state, Wes Roth reports there will soon be a protest at the Daschle campaign office in Rapid City.
UPDATE: Daschle lawyer asks for remedy of not disproportionately sending lawyers to Indian country vs. non-Indian areas. Judge asks if he has any authority in case law for such a broad remedy. Daschle lawyer cited no cases.
UPDATE: The judge raises the issue of live reports coming from the courtroom and ending up on some website. What an outrage!
