Pat Buchanan, Andrea Mitchell, and the dude from I believe Newsweek talked like Bush was looking stronger going into election day. Chrissy M didn't offer much disagreement. The odd man out, Craig (what's his name) was the only one that thought Kerry was going to pull it off. Mostly based on increases in new registrations. I was especially surprised by the Newseek guy as he's tended not to be overly supportive of Bush.
You have any more info about making calls for the president? I would be willing to do that but have not gotten that request.

So the guys they do get on the weekends are "not interested in sports" (not that there is anything wrong with that). It would make sense that they would go for Kerry. Check out the way he throws a football on LGF.

I haven't checked the internals yet, but if you're correct then this poll acquired a bad sample.
Not if you are a Democrat voter, who is less likely then a Republican to vote in the first place.
Not if you are a 18-24 year old (the one age group Kerry is leading Bush in) who sees no reason to waste his time on a candidate who cannot win.
The Democrats need to make their registered voters likely voters and these tie polls give them idea that their vote counts.
If a poll showed Kerry down by 5, many registered voters would not vote, feeling they would not have an effect.

I'm no poll expert, but it seems to me the answer is simple: the party that gets the larger turnout, wins.
Get everyone out to vote for the president as if your future depended on it.
Please explain to me what exactly the "daily tracking polls" are? How are they different than regular polls? Sample size? I don't understand what they really are.

Unless things have changed dramatically during the past 5 minutes, 18-24 year olds are notorious for not showing up!
I've always thought Kerry's lead in this group was illusory.
This poll is total BS.
Bush is WAY ahead amongst males and in most all polls is ahead with women.
This Gallup poll actually shows 21% of "conservatives" supports Kerry. BS.

Rush's tone tomorrow and Tuesday will say alot - I remember what happened in 2000 on his election day show, it was obvious that the Republicans had leaked some exit poll data to him.
I personally trust Mason-Dixon for state polling over any other organization, including Gallup.
Well I live in Texas and of course Bush has a huge lead so I image that plenty of Democrats will say, "Why bother?" But I just don't know if that actually happens. The race is for other offices too, Congress and so on. So even if you know your vote for Pres won't matter you vote for him and then down ticket.
