Mayor accused of stealing signs

ARVADA - The Democratic mayor of Arvada has been accused of stealing yard signs supporting a Republican candidate for state Senate.
Mayor Ken Fellman was allegedly caught on videotape early Saturday morning removing two "Jessica Corry for state Senate" yard signs from a property in unincorporated Jefferson County, according to members of Corry's campaign.
"We are appalled that our mayor, who is supposed to be a leader, would take it upon himself to take down our signs, especially since they were located outside of city limits," Corry said in a press release.
Fellman said all he was doing was enforcing city laws, and that over the past month he has removed a number of signs, some Democrat and some Republican.
When confronted by police, Fellman reportedly surrendered the signs to the officers and said his actions were justified because the signs were illegally placed within a city-owned easement. But members of Corry's campaign staff say the signs were actually placed just outside of city boundaries.

I just entered this in my
journal:
Well, I had to go get groceries. I figured I'd put out another Bush/Cheney sign at an intersection that I usually have to wait at a light. I put it up and went to get groceries.
When I was coming home, I saw the sign had been mangled. It couldn't have been more than twenty minutes! I went around the block and re-placed the sign higher on the hill. As of 30 minutes ago, it was still there.
I should print up a bigger sign that reads, "Bush/Cheney sign destroyed by a tolerant, free-speech loving Kerry supporter."
A (Arvada)mayor was busted on tape stealing republican candidate signs yesterday as well.
These people can't win if they don't cheat, eh?
We oughta grab/make a bunch of BUSH/CHENEY signs and use them as bait; while we wait with our digital cameras....
Something to help relieve the anxiety, perhaps?
