I have to disagree with you. It's not been my experience that FReepers discredit newbies.
I think that what gets under the skin of FReepers are newbies who show disrespect for FReepers who've been here a long time. In my opinion, there is a silent heirarchy in FReeperville that develops here over time. You begin to learn who certain FReepers are because of what they bring into the fold.
Anyway, if you follow the rules of the forum, you've come here for the right reasons and you use basic netiquette, you will fall into the groove with ease.
Welcome to you :)

At this point in the election, I dont think Kerrys discharge would make any difference with the votersIt might steal away some of the squishy middle... 3 or 4 percent, just like happened in 2000. Thereby Krushing Kerry even worse than he's already going to get Krushed!
To: MayflowerMadam
After Clinton, this won't matter at all even if true. Clinton was a unabashed traitor; the Dems loved him. Kerry's a traitor and they'll love him, too. True, but we're not after dim-witted Dems with this. We're after those undecideds floating around who STILL haven't made up their DAMN minds!

"Kerry released all his records. He said so, MSM reported it as true."
Funny, just hours ago he was saying his records were not all released:
Brokaw: Someone has analyzed the President's military aptitude tests and yours, and concluded that he has a higher IQ than you do.
Kerry: That's great. More power. I don't know how they've done it, because my record is not public. So I don't know where you're getting that from.

It won't make a difference....They are in the AnybodyButBush mode. They will ride the Kerry train till it runs off the track.
Bush will win, I have faith.

RUMOR: NY Sun will break the
story.

There's Kerry's trouble. He DID give aid to the enemy. We already know that. Would that be grounds for a less than honorable discharge?
To: jambooti
If you subsitute Kerry for Bush in this story it would be a national flash bulletin with 24/7 coverage through Tuesday.

This is NOT helpful. Any stories like this near the end of the campaign will be percived as a dirty trick and will backfire. We appear to be ahead in the polls, don't do anything stupid!
Yeah, that last-minute DUI story sure hurt the Dems...who were several points behind at that point...
To: fromunda
no former Secretary of the Navy would run the risk of criminal prosecution by making such a statement. That's patently ridiculous. I am not so sure. Having a traitor in the White House may be enough for even a career politician to come clean.

It might steal away some of the squishy middle...It will also (hopefully) force Kerry off point so he has to spend time talking about something other than "386 tons".
To: West Coast Conservative
If it is anybody, it will be the Sun. They have been running the last couple stories about the issue.

Previously, the former sec nav gave a non-denial.
He said he could neither confirm, nor deny.
If there is an affidavit signed and sealed, the legs are on this, but MSM will be real slow to cover.
A interview or public statement is needed to get this going.
I am praying this WILL happen.

[ Secretary of the Navy would cause a considerable stir. ]
Not even then... Jimmy Cartier would get slimed too.. since he is the traitor that would take the bullets.. Kerry did not do this on his own (upgraded his record).. Not only Jimmah but it would take a buttload of others to upgrade a DD to an honorable and make the evidence of the crime go away.. Declaring open season on past presidents activitys would also open up x42's obvious treasonous activitys.. We've had two treasonous ex-presidents since 1980 and a third in the aisles panting(Kerry)... Congress and the Senate would see that as having ten foot poles marks all over it.. and would'nt touch it.. The excuse; a diversion from the war on terror would be a bad thing..
When actually that activity would send shivers down the front, through the groin and back up the back and crawl the nape of any terrorists out there.. AMERICA WAKING UP would indeed capture some attention on the dark side.. Especially in URP and Russia.. the terrorists are merely third world dupes that get their tools from the two perps mentioned above..

"Ok, I was in the Army during Vietnam, not that it matters as I was serving in Europe. But which ever SecNav that might have signed the papers in the 1970's could possibly be prevented by official military privacy regulations from disclosing antibody's type of discharge to the public. Even 30 years later."
True, it's entirely possible that's the case. I don't have knowledge of military matters like that... BUT...
It's also entirely possible that this person, whoever it is, might consider the importance of this information getting out and preventing (or helping to prevent) someone like Kerry becoming president MORE important than whatever ramifications he might face for doing so.
Does that make sense? I think I rambled.

So what the individual is a "newbie" That "newbie" for all you know could be George Bush himself. How do you know this individual could have been following politics alot longer then you. Attacking people that just find the site is rude. Everyone has to be new to the site. That doesn't mean then know less about politics than you or me.
