Major saw no hostilities in the area, in response to Brett Baier's question about is it possible any looting once they were in the area.
Major said they had just completed major operation in Baghdad and the area around the compound not heavily populated and those few civilians very friendly.
Pentagon guy adds any looting would have been detected.
Other reporter back to the IAEA seals. Major doesn't know if the stuff they removed was the stuff under seal. Pentagon guy says "we don't know" and we're looking.

These questions are ridiculous (except for Bret Baer's, which was reasonable, I thought).
"Can he tell us whether..." Listen, you rude JERK, "he" is the Major at the microphone. Stop talking like he isn't even in the room!
What a bunch of elitist, stupid jerks!

"If you review the pictures on the KSTP web site that has the ABC video everyone is using you can see a very clear picture of a seal with its number (#144322). The PDF document of the UN inspections available show the numbers of the seals and none of them have that number. Therefore, it is clear that the bunkers that ABC videoed were not the ones that held the HMX the UN inspected."Post that comment next to the UN's pdf (if it exists) and you'll be famous.

That is not good for PresBush. It gives his Kerry and the opposition forces an open ended issue to bash the President with and coming right before the election, that is not good Why is Kerry taking it out of his speeches then?
and off his website?

Keep repeating that!
THIS is not the definitive answer.

I don't think the press conference did anything to settle this.
The Major is not qualified to anser the main premise. He was not trained on how to ID HDX/RDX and was not sure if any was there.
Am I wrong?

The Pentagon briefing and press conference just held didn't clarify the situation in question. In my judgment, what it has done, is to further complicate matters and allow this issue to grow longer legs and more importantly, stay on the political campaign radar screen through the weekend. Which is exactly what the Kerry campaign and the liberal establishment wanted. That is not good for PresBush. It gives his Kerry and the opposition forces an open ended issue to bash the President with and coming right before the election, that is not good. Thoughts?

Larry Dirita, spokesman for Pentagon: Even the number you are using is not definitive. Anyone saying they have definitive information is incorrect. We are trying our best to understand it.

You are SO wrong on this point.
This clearly gives the voter a choice on who do you trust? The MSM (Kerry) or our military (Bush). Checkmate for Bush.

It's the mainstrea media, folks. Yes, they are out to destroy the GOP and everyone associated with it. Witness Shilling's pullback from his trip to appear with Bush. Liberals are making some Republicans cower.
