Since when does a journalist know more than an ordinance officer about explosives?

They have to keep him talking till he says something they can splice together to get a "quote" supporting their own agenda.

Brett Baier comes in to save the day!

Wonderful question about how easy it would be to remove the stuff without anyone noticing.

I'd give ANYTHING to see the expression on Kerry's face as he's hearing this.

He hasn't let up for five days. I suspected all along that he was ramming his stupid foot farther and farther down his throat.

It's on CNN International right now....the media has to cover this, right?

Reporters are ripping-out the throats of Pentagon spokesman, Army Major on scene. There is not even a pretense of fairness from the press. They are tearing-into the spokesmen purely to help Kerry. Major reports that his unit removed about 200 tons of HE. Reporters are harshly demanding proof that any of this was part of the "missing explosives." DOD guy notes that there may be no more than 3 tons missing. Reporters, in turn, rip into both men, claiming that none of this explosive the Major removed is any of the "400 missing tons."

This news conference is turning into another bad day for Bush. Major says he is not qualified to say whether the ammo he removed is HMX or RDX. Why did they bring him to the conference in the first place? This is ugly and gives Kerry more film to use against Bush. WFT?

I see them trying to just totally confuse the issue, getting the spokesmen hot trying to correct their "misconceptions," to the point anybody watching becomes totally confused, turns it off, and waits on the idiot press to condense everything to a soundbite later today.

The Pentagon briefing and press conference just held didn't clarify the situation in question. In my judgment, what it has done, is to further complicate matters and allow this issue to grow longer legs and more importantly, stay on the political campaign radar screen through the weekend. Which is exactly what the Kerry campaign and the liberal establishment wanted. That is not good for PresBush. It gives his Kerry and the opposition forces an open ended issue to bash the President with and coming right before the election, that is not good.

The press sounds like they are cross-examining rather than questioning.

Thanks for the KFI tip - I usually listen on WBAP in Dallas which plays Rush on a 1-hour delay.

You're welcome. I serve at the pleasure of the President and the Pajama Nation.

I'd give ANYTHING to see the expression on Kerry's face as he's hearing this.

It won't matter. The press will not report that this does anything to clear it up.

The Prez's stump speech coming out of this should be that Kerry's a PROFESSIONAL PACIFIST, with a 30 year history of voting the pacifist line every single time. He is not qualified to be an armchair quartback here.

This is simple. Lets take these morons out and let them load 380 tons this afternoon. They get 2 toyota pick ups.

Anyone that has ever loaded large amounts of anything whether it be fertilize, grain, weapons or Michael Moore's Breakfast Bowl new this story was bogus from the beginning.

I have never seen such disgusting behavior in my life!

We have seen everything in this election.

It is unparalleled in modern times and reminds me of a third world nation coming apart.

The only thing missing are the duels, and the fist fights.
