Absolutely stupid on the part of Dreier and the NRCC. I don't think people give money to the NRCC so they can try to shut down a radio show. They give money so that they can elect Republicans. Henceforth, the NRCC never gets another cent from me. My money will go to individual GOOD Republicans.

And why has no one complained about all the other "violations" that talk show hosts committ EVERY DAY???

Larry Elder and lame-ass Hugh Hewitt have Dreier on constantly, and no one ever complained.

Sean Hannity and Limbaugh CONSTANTLY bash Kerry in favor of Bush, and Limbaugh and there's been no complaint. And Limbaugh's been at it for years!

Howard Stern's ENTIRE SHOW is now an anti-Bush, pro-Kerry comemrcial, and no one's complained to the FEC.

No one bothered John and Ken last year when they denounced Gumby left and right and urged people to elect Schwarzenegger.

In all the above cases Democrats never complained to election authorities, and Republicans didn't ask the radio hosts to back off for fear of triggering investigations.

My point exactly. So, it's cool for Dreier to run around on everyone else's show spouting off, but a felony if J&K talk up his opponent, and criticise him?

Love to see how far this all goes. I couldn't have imagined something like this just a few years ago. A crime to criticize a politician? Gosh, the Constitution really is TP...

Folks, I appreciate the republicans who have come on this thread supporting David Drier, but I simply cannot agree with them on this issue.  For the record, John and Ken have been trying to get democrat Congressman Bacca forced out of office as well.  To their consternation, the republicans won't offer a dime's worth of supporty  to Bacca's republican challenger.  I have heard Bacca's republican challenger, and she has excellent views regarding the issues that face our nation.

Make what you will out of the attempt to deep-six Drier.  If the republicans were smart, they'd allow Drier to be canned and replace Bacca with his challenger.  This trade off would at least assure that one solid conservative would inhabit one of the two districts.  As it is, neither district will be served by a conservative if Drier and Bacca both win.  Let me explain why I make this charge regarding Drier.

Drier has been very supportive of Asa Hutchinson.  Asa Hutchinson personally intervened with the INS (or whatever the flavor of the month name they're going by now), to stop their inland enforcement efforts that netted over 400 illegal immigrants in two or three days.  Asa was lobbied by Bacca (the same guy John and Ken are trying to replace).  Asa came on the program and told untruth after untruth regarding our immigration policies.  He evidently didn't think southern Californians were up on the subject, and he was caught like a deer in the headlights numerous times.

Drier supports Asa Hutchinson's actions 100%.  Drier has about a 16 rating when it comes to illegal immigration.  He is a dismal failure when it comes to defending our nation from invasion from the south.

Look folks, you may not have a problem with illegal immigration, but you cannot fault those of us who want the laws of our nation enforced for advocating for them to be.

Drier was offered to come on John and Ken's show.  He refused.  His complaint against them sounds as if it was drawn up by an eighth grader.

Let's reveiw who John and Ken are.  John and Ken are the drive-time hosts of a 50,000 watt power station in southern California.  Their program can be heard from just short of San Diego, almost to Santa Barbara.  They can be heard inland to the Riverside San Bernardino area.  They advocated for Arnold Schwarzenegger last year.  At the time David Drier was working with Scwarzenegger.  John and Ken went after Davis tooth and nail, supporting Arnold all they way.  Drier was pleased as punch to have their support last year.

John and Ken were unmerciful in their attacks on Davis last year.  None the less, Davis and company never attacked them.  That's why Drier's actions look so amaturish.  It's just hilarious to see him attacking John and Ken for doing nothing more than they did last year to help Schwarzenegger.  Where was Drier then if he thought their actions broke campaign finance reform?  Tell me what conservative talk radio shows don't advocate for the politician of their choice.  We have had the run of the conservative radio circuit.  We have enjoyed the benefits of this.  Now that a person is being removed for what I consider extreme malfeasence, he stoops to attacking these men with a law suit that doesn't just seek an injunction to stop them, it seeks to enforce felony counts against these two DJs.

I support John and Ken in their efforts.  They've had it with what illegal immigration is doing to southern California and they are taking action to do something about it.  Frankly, I salute them.

David Drier should be ashamed of himself.  He is unfit to hold public office.  I hope he is driven from office never to hold public office again.

Why should I listen to someone who can't formulate a coherent sentence?

LOL, Sinkspur, good for you! That sentence was both pathetic and hilarious at the same time. And you're right. J&K will go down to defeat as both Dreier and Baca will win their districts easily. How anyone can take John seriously, with his over-inflated ego, and with the way he alternates between little-girl hysterics and little-girl giggles, is beyond me.

Serious issues demand serious attention and viable solutions, not some cheap, shallow radio ratings scam.

BTW, if a complaint has been filed against them, I have no doubt whatsoever that they are misrepresenting it on the air.

Why do you oppose them?
Ken and John are hitting both Republicans and Democrats on this issue.
Drier wont lose the race. I do hope that he loses a primary.

Rome was a very successfuly republic before it became an empire. It was Julius Caesar who made the decision to go back to Rome and declare himself emperor, just before he crossed the Rubicon river. That's where we get the expression. I share your concern that our country is right at the threshold of decline into empire status.

I don't have time to read thru this thread right now, but let me tell you who the real idiot here is (even though I'll be voting for him next Tuesday), and that would be George W. Bush! His oath of office required him to veto McCain / Feingold. But he signed it out political expediency, knowing it was unconstitutional and no doubt hoping the senile Supreme Court would clean up after him.

So there we are. Yet another lesser of two evils election.

Great summary. John and Ken from what little I have listened of them (they hosted Glenn Beck's show once or twice I think) are great.

DO YOU KNOW WHO DREIER's OPPONENT IS, who would be elected, if Dreier loses?
About Cynthia Matthews
"I will support environmental conservation efforts to preserve our natural resources and fight for our children’s right to quality education. I will defend a woman’s right to choose. I will protect rights for gays, lesbians, transgender, transsexual and bisexual persons. I will protect the rights of handicap persons. I will protect senior citizen’s right to access adequate and quality health care, which is of the utmost importance."
Hmmmm... kinda sounds like our Governor (R) :-)

I say hats off to these DJs for holding the feet of weasel traitors like Drier to the fire.

You bet. Dreir is a typical, party before country, career politico elite.

And what's Dreier do? He trys to silence the microphone! What an AH!

While Rome burns, Rove and the RNC are throwing gas on the fire. We can only hope Dreier's constituents toss him into the flames.

Dreier is the definition of RHINO. A career politico, that's paraded around by his party elites like some untouchable, elite saint.

It's really sickening to listen to Dreiers *new* campaign commercials, trying to convince everyone that now, all of a sudden Dreier is a big anti illegal alien crusader and a defender of our borders.

It's truly sickening to think if it wasn't for John and Ken broadcasting the truth about this illegal alien loving liar, there would be no Dreier campaign commercials depicting him as the big anti illegal alien crusader.

Dreier is a stinking liar and a political hack.

Plain and simple, this AH is the damn problem!

I was reading some old articles last night on John Kerry's "middle-east adviser" and longtime California politican Mel Levine. I was surprised to find Dreier and Pete Wilson jumping in with the likes of Cranston, Levine, Waxman, etc. to support Michael Milken, et al.
Los Angeles Times, February 1, 1989
Drexel Sought Help From 9 in Congress to Pressure SEC

Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc., currently facing federal charges of securities fraud, recently enlisted nine members of Congress from California--at least seven of whom have received campaign contributions or honorariums from Drexel--to bring pressure on the Securities and Exchange Commission to lighten the terms of a proposed settlement of the case.

(snip)

California's two senators, Democrat Alan Cranston and Republican Pete Wilson, each wrote letters on Drexel's behalf, and Rep. Henry A. Waxman (D-Los Angeles) wrote a third letter, which was signed by six other Los Angeles-area congressmen.

(snip)

In recent years, Drexel has been a generous source of honorariums--speaking and appearance fees--as well as campaign contributions for members of Congress. The firm also employs one of Washington's highest powered lobbying outfits, the law firm headed by well-known Democrat Robert S. Strauss.

Cranston, Wilson, Waxman and four of the other letter signers--Reps. Howard L. Berman (D-Panorama City), Mel Levine (D-Santa Monica), David Dreier (R-La Verne) and Carlos J. Moorhead (R-Glendale)--have received thousands of dollars from Drexel and its political action committee in the last three years. Two signers of Waxman's letter, Reps. Julian C. Dixon (D-Los Angeles) and Augustus F. Hawkins (D-Los Angeles), list no Drexel contributions on recent financial disclosure reports.
