Nice to see you're so blase about an elected official suppressing free speech. I guess an R after the name means that rules just don't apply, huh?

I don't see where John and Ken have been prevented from airing their spew. Have you? Drieir filed a complaint against them and Clear Channel with the election commission to shut them up. The complaint was read over the air. That was Clear Channel's way of responding to the complaint. Drieir tried some heavy handed arm twisting to prevent them from "airing their spew".
When is the last time you heard of a Republican doing that?

I've gotten several calls from that same GOP headquarters asking me to come down to the office and help make calls this weekend (I'm registered GOP and live in D.C.). As tempted as I was to tell them to get some of their precious illegal alien day-laborers for this task - I'm going to help anyhow. The only reasons are named Reinquist, O'Connor, and Stevens.
As a former Southern Californian, however, who can barely recognize his home neighborhood, I say hats off to these DJs for holding the feet of weasel traitors like Drier to the fire.

If they receive an FCC fine, they will have been punished for expressing, ironically, popular political views. What part of "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances" do you not understand?

Wow. That's an incredibly strong argument to justify an elected official violating the First Amendment. I guess it's a lucky thing that Dreir is not "bound by oath or affirmation, to support this Constitution." Oops, he is.

In the last year or so, Arizona has seen several new political organizations spring into life, grow, and have an impact on elections at state and local levels. Their only objective is to get rid of RINOs and replace them with solid conservatives. Our state legislature will already look quite different next year -- a lot of RINOs, particularly those who were sucking the toes of our Dem Governess, did not survive the primary election.

Isn't their an initiative in Arizona to deny social services to illegals? I heard about it this week. Does it look like it will pass?

It's a target rich environment here. We have far to many Rs running around here who would be much more honest if they changed their party affiliation to D.

Anyone stupid enough to vote for someone with an R after their name, no matter what they stood for, their record or their morals deserves the ridicule Agree 100%! It should be principle over party, not the other way around.

They created laws to prevent this electioneering before a campaign by law. These are NOT you basic citizens, but represent KFI actually electioneering on that station.
I don't know what Federal law they broke, but it will be interesting to find out.
They don't care for real anyway, they are mercenary like O'Reilly for ratings. They were using the election for their own ends. They are also idiots, serves them right IMO.

I live in and I have written to Henry Waxman's office and actually had a sit down chat with him about socialized medicine. He was "nice" too, so what? He went and stabbed me in the back after his "nice" talk anyway. That is their business, most of our local politicians respond to their districts in a polite way. OK "pal, how many illegals have moved into and changed the life in Monrovia during Drieir's term in office? Don't you think that Drieir's policies have an affect on Los Angeles? Remember his campaign against Sonny Sardo? I remember it well. Here is an interesting thread on it: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-rlc/1087967/posts Sardo said the exact same thing John and Ken are saying He had the support of the Republican Assembly in Monrovia. Sorry,I live too close to you to say that it does not affect me. When he reacts with new legislation as a response to this pressure, it directly affects me. I will NOT butt out. Thank you very much. First and foremost Waxman is a cockroach of the first degree; him as your representative puts you in the Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Wilshire corridor. Not even close to Dryer's district of Arcadia, Monrovia, Duarte etc.
To compare Waxman with Dryer is like getting apples and oranges at the same level. No can do that!
For your information we do not have any heavy influx of "Mexicans" due to the fact that housing in this area is not very cheap/also we have a very, very vigilant and effective police force who cleans up the streets and enforces the law to the fullest extent.(I like that a lot!)
Sonny Sardo...an old man trying to beef up his upholstery business by going against the most powerful member of the House of Representatives. Stunt work, noting more nothing less.Good for business when radical.
Other than that everything is just peachy!

The fires are starting to rage in Rome Oh, I hope you're right! The fires should have started raging here in CA ten years ago.

Yes. Formerly known as Protect Arizona Now or PAN, it is now Proposition 200. Depending on whose polls you look at, it has about 70% support.
It does not deny services, those are available to all. It does deny state welfare benefits. It also requires proving citizenship when registering to vote and ID when voting. It also requires any state bureaucrat to report illegals to ICE if they discover a benefit claim is being made by an illegal alien -- or face four months in an orange jumpsuit.
It does not make the same mistakes as Cali's Prop 187. It was very carefully crafted with an eye towards surviving legal challenges. It does not try to challenge the federally mandated requirement for K-12 education at our expense or emergency medical care.
Severability is built in. You can't just kill Prop 200. It would have to be nullified clause by clause.
Will it stop illegals from crossing? No. It is not designed to do so. However, it will make Arizona one of the most unfriendly places for an illegal to try to live. Those of you living downstream better look at your own states' laws.

Other than that everything is just peachy!Congressman Dreier's District spans the foothill communities at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains just north and east of Los Angeles. The nearly 20 communities stretch across the San Gabriel Valley portion of Los Angeles County and the western portion of San Bernardino County. Although 636,000 residents call the 26th CD home
http://dreier.house.gov/ca26.htm
Gee, I wonder how many illegals live in Upland? Last time I drove over there, the most common language wasn't English.
Just peachy.
