HOLY @#%^@#$&!!!! Joe Lockhart was trying to spin the myth that W let UBL escape from Tora Bora and citing retired AF (I think) General McPeak's statements that are negative about the war. Gibson pointed out that Gen. Franks himself has said that Kerry has his facts wrong about the situation in 2001 at Tora Bora.
John Gibson: "Mr. Lockhart, you aren't questioning Gen. Frank's credibility are you?"
Lockhart: "What I'm not doing is questioning Gen. McPeake's credibility...Gen. Franks has had two years to get his story straight about Tora Bora and he's out there doing the President a political favor."

McPeak is the liar. Ask anyone on the Clackamas County Oregon Republican Executive Committee from about 4 years ago when they voted down a motion to appoint him to the committee....mainly because he was a liar for saying he supported the party platformwhen we knew he did not. Nothing has changed.

He does an excellent job of decribing the thinking behind the troop strength needed to complete the mission. Sounds like he had to battle the Pentagon brass every step of the way. Thank goodness President Bush and Secretary Rumsfield were in his corner. At one point in the narrative he asks the Rumsfield to put the JCSs in line and stop meddling with his authority. Remember that CENTCOM is a unified command and is intended to provide a quick response highly mobile military. He also goes into some detail about Pentagon sources, in particular, leaking sensitive information often in a biased manner.
Does anyone know if any weekend Freeper demonstrations are scheduled? I would thing a large gathering outside The New York Times, CBS or The United Nations would be appropriate. There seems to be no doubt about a coordinated effort to take this election by falsely accusing our troops and their commanding officers of dereliction of duty. This is unprecedented.

Tommy Franks got mad at me once in Korea when he commanded 2ID. It was not pleasant, and he only had half the stars at the time that he has now!!!
The question is, how mch further will Lockhart's eyeballs bulge before they pop completely out of his skull?

Someone else had posted a pretty good profile on McPeake. As I recall, he's just another REMF who kissed the right asses to get his stars, thoroughly hated by the troops who were unfortunate enough to serve under him. IOW, just exactly the kind of Perfumed Prince you'd expect to find supporting Jean Fraud Cheri.
John's doing good - I think he ticked off a Tad too-devine yesterday .. I was listening to Hannity, but I had FOX on without audio. Tad was so annimated and had that little snarling lip thing he does when he talks. I could tell he was not happy with what John was asking him .. and Tad kept doing that little FAKE smile .. trying to fool people into beliving he was not upset .. it was funny just watching him.

I have the Franks autobiography and it is an excellent read of an honorable man. Lockhart should burn for calling him a liar - all democrats should be shamed at this.

If Tommy Franks gets wind of this I would hate to be Joe Lockhart. Not that I don't thank God every day that I am not Joe Lockhart.
