HOLY @#%^@#$&!!!! Joe Lockhart was trying to spin the myth that W let UBL escape from Tora Bora and citing retired AF (I think) General McPeak's statements that are negative about the war. Gibson pointed out that Gen. Franks himself has said that Kerry has his facts wrong about the situation in 2001 at Tora Bora.
John Gibson: "Mr. Lockhart, you aren't questioning Gen. Frank's credibility are you?"
Lockhart: "What I'm not doing is questioning Gen. McPeake's credibility...Gen. Franks has had two years to get his story straight about Tora Bora and he's out there doing the President a political favor."

Lockhart, a MAN would call Franks a liar to his face. You won't, because he'd wring your neck for daring to question his honor.
Scum. I have no more tolerance for these people anymore. None.

I'm sure for Gibson it was like shooting fish in a barrel. LOL.
To: SageofRugby
I'm reading Franks' book, too.
I can imagine the General filling out his daily 3 x 5 card tomorrow morning: Challenges: Lockhart; Opportunities: Knock out his lights.

I thought at the time that Lockhart replaced Dee Dee, that he was an inferior second choice, that Joe wasn't in her class; time has proven my instincts right.

The fact that you survived is a testimony to GEN Franks' fairness.
Have you read his book? Great read.

I'm not surprised. Kerry has said worse things. Calling Vietnam vets war criminals, lying about his military record, betraying his country......no big surprise here. Totally disgusting.

McPeak was a tv war analyst for KGW(NBC affiliate in Portland, Or.) during the war. He lives in Lake Oswego and went there each night after his ardent schedule of 2 broadcasts a day.

Let me say this about that!!!
Gen. Franks was only about 10,000 miles closer to the action than both McPeak and lockhart. That is the difference between a witness and a someone that has second hand knowledge.

I can not begin to express the rage and disgust I feel right now. Me either, I am afraid I am at a loss for words these days. They have gone beyond despicable.

Thanks for the ping. It appears everyone is on edge. John should have done better, but, frankly when you have the likes of Lockhart running his mouth, it is tough to keep up.
He should have done better, no question.

Operation Street Corner will be out in Raleigh, NC, Friday evening, when we give Edwards a retirement send off, and Saturday near NC State.
Tickets to the Edwards rally are still available at
Get your complimentary ticket(s) to the Bringing it Home to North Carolina Rally with John Edwards, but I don't want to encourage anyone who doesn't intend going, to sign up for tickets, not at all, really, we could do that, but, you know, that'd mean the eager Dems wouldn't be able to attend, see?
