Crystal clear (surprise for a change) skies east of Pittsburgh (near Greensburg, PA). Really cool, turning kinda rusty in color.

Same as Cleveland. Very cool.

Not a scientist here but suspect the earth's atmosphere causes a color shift toward red, like a sunset.

Good photo.

That curve of the Earth's shadow on the moon was used by the ancient Greeks to get the size of the moon relative to the Earth, and then the distance to the moon.

well after I posted I ran back out - the clouds are moving in here - my husband and boys are waiting for the "holes" to try to take another picture. Don't know if the pics are coming out or not tho'

My kids watched it in the back yard. My son said it looked red. I thought it looked brown.

Dust in the atmosphere; close to peaking here, just made call to all the family members for the heads up..............woke up the 8 year old to see it. Very cool.
