YET ANOTHER SERVICEMAN REFUTES THE TIMES ACCOUNT [10/26 05:23 PM]

From yet another Kerry Spot reader with a ".mil" e-mail address:

You are correct in your bottom line conclusion. Here is a second follow up. I was serving as a [identifying information removed by the Kerry Spot] staff member during the time in question. The Commander on the site had complete real time intelligence on what to expect and possibly find at the Al-QaQaa depot. The ordinance in question was not found when teams were sent in to inspect and secure the area. When this information was relayed, Operational plans were adjusted and the unit moved forward. Had the ordinance in question been discovered, a security team would have been left in place.

You may very well be right. What was the attack on Kerry or point that Bush were trying to make instead today? I think it was that Kerry just complains and doesn't really have a plan. A good basic point, but was it worth ignoring the lead news story on ABC/CBS/NBC? We'll see.

How many days do you think Rove can or will wait to respond to this? He does need to have a high level response, right? I'll check back in a couple of days to this thread, and we can see if/when there was a response. Maybe Cheney will do it tonight. It has to be Bush/Cheney/Franks/Rumsfeld. A press spokesman won't do.

I like the term QAQAA-GATE since thats exactly what it was...

Qa-Qaa, flung at Dubya on election-week, hoping it would stick!

Voters should serve up some QaQaa-on-a-shingle to to Kerry on election day!

Means exactly that. They attacked not only Bush, but the military too. I understand a tatement was made, and video gotten showing what nbc's agent who was there, said at the time, refuting this.

Don't get me started about Longstreet's so-called "slowness." The man was a superb strategist and an excellent leader. If Lee had followed his advice about relieving Vicksburg, the Civil War might have ended very differently. Fortunately for the Army of the Potomac, Lee chose to go after the North in a grand offensive and Gettysburg was the result.

We are equally fortunate that the Dems appear to have adopted an offensive strategy which relies on a co-opted MSM which cannot seem to get its storylines straight. I hope the GOP, like Longstreet at the Wilderness, can "roll up their flank like a wet blanket."

Ideally, they'll never feel the need to respond. That would be the perfect outcome. If there is a response, the best thing would be for it to simply be worked in the normal speeches that the candidates might make. Your idea of Cheney is probably on the mark. But it should just be an aside -- as if everyone already knows this is just another effort by Kerry (and the media) to lie about Bush and the Iraq war.

Whatever they do, they shouldn't dignify the lie with a major effort and emphasis -- that will ONLY reinforce that the lie is really a big issue that deserves attention. Bush will then be giving it life by what he is doing. Not good.

And yes, ignoring news leads on the alphabet networks is definitely a good idea when those networks are simply serving as a Kerry mouthpiece. You won't get them to change their tune...you'll only give them more fodder to pursue the story with.

I noticed that all the soundbites of Bush today were him talking about jobs and domestic issues -- that PERFECT for this time in the election. He's eating at issues now that are true upper midwest/heartland issues. He's going on what is assumed to be Kerry's turf (domestic) and taking it to him on offense. That's a great plan.

Saying this stuff is a nuke trigger is a real stretch.

The explosive has to go through a great deal of processing and is designed as a component of the bomb to extremely exacting tolerances. The stuff in question could not have been used as it was.

Secondly, it has hundreds of uses and is widely available to those governments who use it.

It is also not easy to detonate. High explosive detonators and/or HE fuses are required and the stuff has to be mixed or processed and concentrated for a decent effect per pound. In the form it was in, it was only powdered and was at the most basic form.

El whacko with the IAEA is looking for cover and fighting off attempts to have him ditched. He is at fault for this repackaged old news and needs to be called to account.

I am sure the admin is working on it and we will hear something real soon.

The U.N. is a fraud! Get the U.S. out of the U.N. and get the U.N. out of the U.S.

Check his Swiss and Grand Caymans bank accounts. You find a few million reasons for him "missing" those nuclear programs.

23 January 2003 visit to the QaQaa missile site was reported on Al Jazeerah on the same day. The question is, why weren't the high explosives destroyed by UNMOVIC? It was after all their mission.

It's really shameful that the Bush/Cheney 2004 campaign has not complied with your personal suggestions on how a national presidential campaign should be conducted.

Clearly your ability to post messages on an internet site should be more than sufficient to convince the GOP powers that you, and you alone, are the ultimate source of all opinions that matter.

Count me equally disgusted in their silly oversight.

The article says that this explosive is the prime type with the explosive power for initiating a nuclear device.

What makes this interesting and has not been adequately reported is that Al QaQaa is one of the past sites of Iraq's nuclear research.

Better yet, the inspectors on January 24, 2003 made a detailed investigation of Al QaQaa. Now, if we could only find that report!!

I couldn't agree with you more. I can't understand why Bush is letting Kerry get away with this. The major thing I can't understand regarding no WMD - is that we knew Saddam had them - he used them - and he never showed any proof that he got rid of them. Why is it so hard to say that they aren't hidden somewhere - or carted out of the country? Bush is passive about letting everyone believe that they couldn't be there anymore.

Simple logic....

If he doesn't get out there soon - he will lose....

For the Bush administration to address this hoax with facts will guarantee that the MSM never touches it. There are already cracks in the MSM unity on this story. Let Kerry end up with egg on his face.

What initiates the bomb is a not just the explosive power. This particular stuff is good for that because it can be shaped and measured to the extremely exacting tolerances needed for the initiator.

More importance is place on the controlled nature of the explosion then the power of it.

That just about uses up my knowledge of nukes, but the point is that other explosives have this capability.

This stuff is cheaper, more abundant and can be used for just about anything from a simple air dropped bomb, to mines, grenades, RPG charges, artillery and mining.(everything)

Saddam was famous for buying multi-use stuff to confuse the inspectors and pull the wool over the worlds eyes.

I say let Kerry dig a deeper hole first. He's in panic mode. We've actually got him saying that Iraq has massive amounts of explosives that can do America harm. Bingo, Mr. Kerry. Hence the war.
