As the military advances closer to Baghdad, signs of Iraqi chemical preparedness are multiplying, although there is still no conclusive evidence Saddam Hussein's regime possesses weapons of mass destruction.
On Friday, troops at a training facility in the western Iraqi desert came across a bottle labeled "tabun" -- a nerve gas and chemical weapon Iraq is banned from possessing.
Closer to Baghdad, troops at Iraq's largest military industrial complex found nerve agent antidotes, documents describing chemical warfare and a white powder that appeared to be used for explosives.
U.N. weapons inspectors went repeatedly to the vast al Qa Qaa complex -- most recently on March 8 -- but found nothing during spot visits to some of the 1,100 buildings at the site 25 miles south of Baghdad.

Maybe the President decided to let the pajama brigade take care of it for them.
The purpose of the NY Times story this morning was to set up something nice and easy for Kerry to hit with his plastic T-Ball bat.
No doubt Kerry is clueless. He stumps in a liberal bastion with Der Schlickmeister who killed Gore's political aspirations by taking it upon himself to stump for the Gump. Kerry's wife Tah-ray-zuh opens her yapper with a whopper and then Kerry turns around and just lumps praise on his individual retirement account aka Tay-ray-zuh. Kerry is a buffoon. He's fitting for the Democrats who nominated the dipstick.
Al Qa Qaa was also linked to Tuwaitha (they are next to each other) and nuclear capabilities (triggering mechs) and was one of the spots forewarned about inspectors coming back in 2002.
I wonder if it was one of the places Powell was showing when he did his UN Speech and was talking about them moving stuff before inspectors could get in?
Ok, mor of this sh*t huh...
ping
The MSM is taking the environmentalists way too literally.... Recycle/Reuse.
"Within 48 hours, Kerry is gonna look like a loon for making a big deal out of this. Maybe there were even Intelligence Committee briefings about this that he never attended. That would be sweet to find out."
I agree - I would even go so far as suggesting the info was 'leaked' to NYT as bait...
-the souce was of course the iraqi interim government -who wish reelection for Bush -it is self-evident to those who think -all but the dems
The dems have taken the bait (kerry sound bites have been taped for future ads) -shortly the trap will be sprung -slam dunk...
--the developing story should prove interesting -Lawrence O'Donnell should be entertaining as well!
Doesn't matter whether it did or not. Kerry/Edwards and the MSM are telling us that the explosives include material used to detonate nuclear weapons. They are calling it in favor of WMD.
And we now know they (the explosives/WMD) were gone when we got there in April '03, which means that Hussein gave them over to someone else in order to protect them from falling into our hands.
Sorta makes the Hussein/Terrorism link, wouldn't you say?
It's possible... but the UN can't seem to make up its mind on this topic. UN Inspectors: Saddam shipped out WMDs before, during and after war
Let's not forget that the UN was mad at the USA for shipping (nuclear) materials OUT of Iraq. The UN, Al-Tuwaitha, and Nukes. Does anyone really believe anything the UN says at this point? "You moved the (non-existent) weapons, how dare you!" "You didn't guard the explosives we abandoned before you ever invaded, how dare you!"
Ok, next Thursday when you do your next scheduled "surprize visit", Go to Bldg. 835 . . .
Proceed to the second floor . . .
room 244 . . .
in the back of the room is a desk . . .
Open the middle drawer on the left (NOT the right, the L-E-F-T) . . .
in the back is a cigar box . . .
THAT is the spot to check this time.
How big was Salman Pak?
Nutso.
Confusion reigns at the UN.
Ha ha confushUN.
John Stewart and Comdey Central might have a little problem with that.
Al Ka Ka? ;)
Just damn
BRIT on this now...
