Latest Zogby Tracking Shows Big Shift for Bush (Monday, 25 October, 2004)
NEWSMAX ^ | Monday, 25 October, 2004

Posted on 10/24/2004 9:46:31 PM PDT by Happy2BMe

The latest Zogby tracking poll out Sunday -- with just ten days until Election Day -- shows President Bush and Senator Kerry still locked in a two-point standoff -- 48% to 46%.

But Zogby notes the President has turned in a second day of strong polling.

Pollster John Zogby: "Another good single day of polling for President Bush.

In today's sample alone, he leads 50% to 43% - the first time we've seen either candidate hit 50%.

Each candidate continues to tighten his own constituency, and Undecided voters are now at only 4%."

The telephone poll of 1207 likely voters was conducted from Thursday through Saturday (October 21-23, 2004). The margin of error is +/- 2.9 percentage points.

That doesn't mean Bush will be up 50 to 43 tomorrow. It all depends on how strong or weak of a day he had today (Sunday).

Perhaps one of the last elections in America where one can say they trust the US populace to not be stupid as a whole.

But then again, as Dennis Miller reminds us all, I may be wrong.

I wonder if alZogby will "reevaluate" the numbers for Monday to help Kerry. Remember, there is weekend polling to take into account

I assume this is a three-day tracking poll, so the next result should show Bush pulling away.

2000 Final Polls All Wrong - Except Zogby

___________________________________________________

As we go down to the wire and watch the daily tracking polls, NewsMax thought we should take a look back at 2000 and review the "final" polls.

In almost every case save one, national polls had George W. Bush winning the popular vote.

Which pollster had it right?

As Dick Morris summed up the 2000 polling fiasco, "All the polls were wrong except Zogby."

Have you seen the post tonight showing Bush up 1 in the state of Conn.? It's supposedly from a reputable polling firm in Conn.

Imagine the numbers if they didn't have a generous mop of the Zogby secret sauce...it must pain him to report Bush ahead.

The same thing happened with Rasmussen. He compiles the polls over a 4 day period. He had one outlier day with Kerry doing well. That's why Rasmussen looked so close today. Hopefully tomorrow there should be a big shift. Zogby knows half the population no longer trusts him. If he doesn't get in line with what is going on now, his reputation will be zero after this election.

I am working on my "posting" for DU. I only get one shot at it because they will ban me, so I am writing the most BITING posting I can, to be posted on November 3rd when Bush is announced the winner by a large margin.

They left off the Harris poll. It showed them tied.
