FReepers Against Voter Fraud - (What Are YOU Doing To Prevent It?)
Various | October 23, 2004 | sweetliberty

You would think that after the nightmare that was the 2000 election, all the stops would have been pulled out to make sure it didn't happen again. It seems that what has happened instead, is that a certain party has seized on it as an opportunity to fine tune their election fraud techniques. Already stories abound of vote swapping, buying and selling, of "mistakes" on the absentee ballots and "problems" resolving conflicts about who would actually be on the ballot that have prevented absentee ballots reaching our troops serving overseas in a timely manner. There are stories of tens of thousands of people who are registered in more than one place, of hordes of democrats blocking polling places to Republicans. There are stories of registrations in some areas far exceeding eligible voters, and democrats kicking and screaming over any measure that would require voters to prove eligibility and/or citizenship. We have John Kerry hiring hordes of lawyers, no doubt on taxpayer money, to challenge election results, even if Bush is the clear winner. You have organizations circulating memos and guidelines for disenfrancising the military and for accusing Republicans of intimidation tactics. We have swarms of democrats actually going into the prisons and registering voters who have no legal right to vote. And on it goes, not even taking into account the standard graveyard vote and politicking from the pulpits of black democrat churches.

So FRiends, it gets worse with every election cycle...and it is pretty darned discouraging. It is hard to play by the rules when you're playing against people who think the rules don't apply to them. As discouraging as it is, though, we're all we've got. It is up to us to do whatever we can to prevent election fraud.

What can you do? You can first be on the alert and report any irregularities you might observe. You can have a group stake out parking lots of polling places with cameras and notebooks, taking pictures and taking notes, especially where busloads of people show up at polling places. If the same busload of people showed up in several polling places, that would be a way to document the fraud in a way that would almost require criminal charges. Of course, there is the 100 feet (or is it 150?) rule, but that's not a big deal.

You can also sign up to be a pollwatcher. Pollwatchers are universally hated by democrats, which suggests that they serve a vital function in exposing fraud and insisting that the rules be followed. Call your local campaign headquarters and ask how to sign up to be a pollwatcher. It routinely involves a couple of hours training, and there is always a shortage of pollwatchers. You might also sign up to be a poll worker, poll closer or to count absentee ballots, again through your local campaign headquarters.

If you're a member of any group, whether church, civic or social, ask others in your group to be alert to the prevalence of voter fraud, especially in certain areas, and encourage them to report any irregularities they might observe.

Be creative. Talk to people. Get involved as much as you are able. And pray. It is one thing for a bad candidate to be honestly elected, in which case, the people get what they deserve, but it is something altogether different when one candidate is so bad and so unscrupulous that he will do anything to win, and we already know that John Kerry is such a candidate. It is up to us to prevent it.

I'm a POLL WORKER (a 14+ hour day)......and kind of a "spy" since most POLL WORKERS are DEMS......we CANNOT ask for ID in our area ......it's crazy, plus we end up with lots of Provisional Ballots. I worry more about what happens at the County AUDITOR'S office than at the Individual Polling place in our County. People need to go observe the doings at their local COUNTY OFFICES.

What does that do? A poll watcher does what? Profile? I saw poll workers and they didn't look at anyone funny and weren't intimidating.

Is your area primarily DEMOCRATIC? That might be why your online registration did not get a response? (In our area, the Auditor is an Elected Democrat.....and I have a feeling "known Repubs" don't get called to work AT the POLLS much.) Also, poll watchers are usually identified and called by the individual Party's from their previous VOLUNTEER workers....

What are they doing about the snowbirds in florida who are voting twice? I suggest looking at license plates and if you see an out of state one...ask them in their face if they voted already. NOTHING is being done about that...I asked the people taking voter information from me what has been done to prevnet these people from voting twice. He pointed to the affadavid and explained that if you get caught, you pay $5,000. He said it was like 'cheating on your taxes." I said to him...Who doesn't cheat on their taxes?? Haha...you get my drift. Anyway...that is what should be corrected...we all know its the DEMOCRAPS who are going to do the cheating....what can be done???

Evidently, poll watching also can consist of checking the voter rolls to see who has & has not voted yet, so that the phone banks can call them & get them to the polls.

I'm not sure what my instructions will be....I have training this Monday. The poll watchers you saw probably weren't intimidating because you were not doing anything wrong except voting properly. I will let you know after I am told what to watch for and what to do about it.

Nothing, actually.
I'm too busy working for the Burr campaign.

I have to say, our local county GOPs have it covered very well.

SL, I keep posting this, hoping people will begin to realise to what lengths the Kerry people and Kerry will go to. Call your local Hq. on Monday to see what you can do to help.

"Do you still have any of the voter fraud ping list?

Somewhere.....I'll have to find it. There are so many fraud posts that you can't help but be informed about this issue.

BTW, I'll be watching at my local poll. We have it easier here in Virginia because you are required to submit ID and get checked off on voter registration list.

I was going to volunteer to be a poll watcher for Hamilton county, but I could not get the day off and I have only 2.44 hours of vacation on the books. I was stunned and amazed the provisional ballots have been shot down if you are not in your precinct. Call me stupid, but isn't absentee ballots for if you are not in your home precinct on election day?

Wow. You need a better vacation system. I'm taking election day off on my comp time. I won't even have to use a leave day. I'm saving those for when Tyler is here.

Mu understanding about absentee balloting is that it is supposed to be for the military and for people who know ahead of time that they will be out of their areas on election day. They aren't used that way anymore though. Now they're used as a matter of convenience and there are large scale efforts made by both parties, but especially by democrats, to solicit absentee ballot applications.

I wish I had comp time! Being a contractor, that is not part of the deal. I'm not complaining, I love my job!

I am glad to know there are others who are stepping up to the plate to try to keep this election fair.... as much as possible.

I love comp time. It is one of the perks of this job, and it isn't too hard to build it up, because with all the deadlines we have to meet, especially for the courts, there is a lot of overtime, plus we're on an on call rotation as well, so one week out of five, we could get called in at any time. Flex time is nice too. If I'm having a week where I get 40 hours in before the end of the week, (not too hard to do), then I can take a day off, as long as all my deadlines are met.
