Is your area primarily DEMOCRATIC? That might be why your online registration did not get a response? (In our area, the Auditor is an Elected Democrat.....and I have a feeling "known Repubs" don't get called to work AT the POLLS much.) Also, poll watchers are usually identified and called by the individual Party's from their previous VOLUNTEER workers....
No, I live in Harris County, Texas where almost every elected official is Republican and all statewide offices are held by Republicans. IMHO, there is a lot of political infighting for personal power and influence within the party. The county Republican organization is too lame to even call the volunteers and get them assigned to help campaigns. When Steve Stockman upset Rep. Jack Brooks in 1994 Steve mobilized an incredible 2000 volunteers to get the job done.
