I just came from the Baederwood Theatre in Abington, PA where "Stolen Honor" was to be shown to an expected full-house. Upon arrival I was told that the theatre canceled the show due to called in threats of violence.
There were about 100 people milling around outside the theatre, mostly Bush supporters, when I arrived. The Bushies were rightly indignant that we couldn't see the film and the sKerry supporters were almost gleeful in their posturing.
One "vet for Kerry" was getting in the faces of many of the Bush supporters, and had to be separated by the police more than once. There were three television news crews recording the skirmishes between the two camps, and reporters jotting down their stories.
The filmmaker, Carlton Sherwood, was there and gave on-camera interviews. The reporters also took about a dozen interviews from both sides of the fence.
There was about a dozen "Vets For Kerry" there, most of them wearing uniforms. I noticed the cops making faces to them as if to say "aren't these Bush supporters a bunch of wankers?" There was one young man (about 19) holding a sign "jingoism doesn't work." Talk about a wanker.
The "Stolen Honor" people handed out DVDs and videos to anyone who wanted one.
This will be a big story on the local news tonight because of all of the heated arguments captured on film. For all in the Delaware Valley viewing area, Channel 6 News stuck around the longest. I'll post any articles from the local papers tomorrow.
Who in their right mind wants a Commander-in-Chief who is a 'self-professed WAR CRIMINAL'?
I watch NO bradcast network, and little satellite now, and for the distant future.
Good grief! A business decision not to show the film is the owner's right. What if they are an independent theatre and don't have the funds for a lawsuit .. are you going to call them appeasers just because you're too lazy to order a copy of the video ..??
C'mon people - please act like you're civilized.
Their words were exactly as this "Depressing? You bet! Mom's got the bail money ready though [smiley icon]"
Probably!
And with their obvious intent to hurt people they disagree with, and they DARE call conservatives facists?
Sounds like he is looking for trouble.

Yessir. I always heard that anyone who hunted Mr. Trouble usually found him.
Betcha it was bomb threats.
You wouldn't have had to send me a red cent; I'd have done it freely and defensively, F. I'd have dropped them like 50lb sacks of sh!t on a 20 mile hike. The LEOs, much as I respect their daily service, will be irrelevant in the upcoming Civil War 2.
Get a projector and run the film on the side of a building, for free. If "civil disobediance" occurs, let it. The news media is there.
I suggested to the gathered faithful that we should scrounge up a monitor and vcr and watch it in a public space outside the movie theatre.
I agree with you, the difference between us and the anarchists is that we care of one of ours gets hurt. We don't want anyone to lose their business, job or life, but we are crafty. Did you notice that the producer Sherwood, was out there giving away the DVDs, he is trying his best to get the message out without thought to the cost to him.
So I guess I will buy the 5.00 ppv if it is available to help defray the cost of having to give away DVDs.
It is.
Caught this on Coast to Coast AM while working graveyard a couple weeks ago. They were discussing a guy named John Titor, a supposed time traveler who appeared in chat rooms for a period of time. One of his predictions from November 2000:
There is a civil war in the United States that starts in 2005. That conflict flares up and down for 10 years.
It goes on to talk about a conflict with Russia and some Star Wars sounding federation. Thought it seemed interesting considering the current level of civility around the upcoming election.
It is.
I am getting so sick of these people? Has anybody gotten this story to Drudge?
Welcome to the pc brotherhood :-)
