Yes, both of those, but also WMD... During the first three weeks of the war I tried to volunteer to go over and help look. I work in the Environmental field... doing subsurface soil and groundwater investigations. We specifically LOOK for buried chemicals, etc. I know how to use Ground Penetrating Radar, chemical sniffer equipment, etc., and I know how to investigate areas that just "don't look right." Remember the story from yesterday where the ING had our guys keep looking after they had found several caches of buried weapons because it "didn't look right" to the Iraqis? That's the kind of thing I specialize in.

I still believe there is alot of ground over there to cover in looking for buried stuff... and I wish I could be there doing just that.

I have been saying from the beginning that these bombings were the work of the socialists in Spain. My reasons were:

This was a REMOTE DETONATION, al-Qaida would have had a lot to lose with conducting a martyr-less attack, as these attacks are seen as cowardly even within the Arab street....

The blinding speed at which the investigation found a note, connected dots, and rounded up perps....

It is now apparent that at the very least a faction connected to Zapatero's minions was involved, and Moroccan terrorists who claim to be followers of bin-Laden have been charged, but for me, the jury's still out. See http://barcepundit-english.blogspot.com/, he's hot on the trail.

I have been saying from the beginning that these bombings were the work of the socialists in Spain.
One thing is sure : there haven't been any terror attacks from jihadis since 9/11 in european NATO soil except for Madrid.
When you consider what happens in Israel, where in spite of anti-terror measures that can't even be compared with those in european NATO countries (actually they are about the opposite : open doors to mass immigration of muslims), the conclusions are obvious.

We had friends 45 minutes out when the bomb went off, heading into the station.

Went through there in April. Tight and better run then our airports I've been in, but of course that was after the fact. This was a big location to bomb with local, regional and international trains. Mall and such.
