Picking the President: Bush is the best candidate
12:36 AM CDT on Sunday, October 17, 2004
Americans want and need a president with a backbone steeled by courage and a heart tendered by compassion. Not since the beginning of World War II has America faced as much uncertainty about its national security and its economic prospects. The next president must have the firm conviction to persevere against Islamic terrorism and the empathy to give his fellow citizens a helping hand, even as he steadily guides the .....

Four years ago, when the world was much simpler, George W. Bush sought the presidency claiming that he had "a charge to keep." Having been tempered by the most eventful and consequential four years served by any U.S. president since Franklin D. Roosevelt's third term (1941-1945), Mr. Bush has earned the right to hold firm to his charge for another term.
This newspaper has seen the Texas Republican in action since his first days on the gubernatorial trail. Though he has stumbled and fallen at times, Mr. Bush has always risen to fight the next round. It's called conviction. It's called sticking. It's called guts. The challenges of these dramatic days demand an American president with guts. As Mr. Bush told his convention, "You know where I stand."
We do, and we wish we knew where John Kerry stood. To be honest, we wish John Kerry knew where John Kerry stood. The senator has been more clear about his positions lately, particularly on Iraq. But his record of vacillation cannot be overcome in a single campaign. What's more, aside from indulging in the fantasy that he can persuade the Europeans to contribute to the Iraq effort .....

"I wonder if I should dump my AJC (Atlanta Journal Constipation) and get a subscription to the Dallas paper... even coming a day late in the mail it might be a better read!"
The DMN is a rag. They held their nose and endorsed Bush, meanwhile they individually will probably go vote for Kerry. They frequently endorse Democratic Party platforms even though the vast majority of their subscibers are Republicans.

haha! Ya had me goin' for a minute. I see now.Stuff happens.

9/11 changed the U.S.A. Probably folks at these newspapers simply want to stay alive, along with their families. They probably realize that endorsing Kerry diminishes their chances of freedom and safety.
:^D
ROFLMAO! Best movie of the year. America, bleep, Yeah!
We haven't had a President with GW's guts since Harry Truman...........but you young whipper snappers wouldn't know about that.
The DMN does not trust "The Tower of Jello"...better known as John Kerry.
John Kerry even has trouble indicating what kind of bottled water he likes.
Bye, bye, John Kerry!
YES!!!!
Unless it has changed since the special election in Feb (Sen Ratliff), we still use bubble-in paper ballots, run thro a scantron. If anything happens to that box, what happens to your vote?
It's possible that we'll have that in my vote tomorrow. I have
voted in the 'tween elections here and that is what we've had.
(The ballot where you darken in the ovals). We shall see what we get tomorrow.
hahahaha! :^D
ooops...that should read razor not raze...too much wine...;O)
