Sorry [not really] about the vanity, but something happened last night on Hannity & Colmes that really burned me up.
Swiftie Van Odell was on and when Colmes got his turn, he claimed that some Vietnamese civilians had come out and taken Kerry’s side about the incident where Kerry had pursued and killed either a teenager or a young man … the “loincloth” incident, and that the Swifties’ accusation was therefore false.
Odell, very calmly, pointed out that their charge was not based on anything a Swiftie was saying, but came from Kerry’s own words in Tour of Duty. Odell even gave Colmes the page number where Kerry had said it.
Colmes, ever the A-hole, kept insisting that the Swifties had been debunked. Colmes wouldn’t even acknowledge Odell’s reference to Kerry’s book and the page number and the fact that the basis of the charge came directly from Kerry’s own words. Between Hannity’s arrogance/big mouth and Colmes’ gross lack of professionalism, I’ve about had it with H&C.
The only thing worth watching on Fox anymore is Brit Hume's Special Report -- the best news hour -- bar none -- on television.
Yep. He shot colmes right out of the sky. Colmes crashed and burned ....but, like every liberal democrat, colmes just kept repeating the lie like a mantra. (For the record: Hannity has redeeming value. He is on the Right side.)
Didn't see it - I still try to watch H&C for at least 5 minutes most evenings, but I cannot bear any more of Colmes' snippy, smarmy, disingenuous rantings. He's better than many leftists in that he's not (usually) openly rude, but I just can't listen to him blather DNC talking points anymore.

I love Brit Hume...this is one gutsy guy that is not full of himself...Yeah, Colmes is getting on my nerves too, he is so whiny. Hannity's exhuberance is cute but he sure does repeat himself a lot. He really drove that Mary Cheney story into the ground, when there were so many other issues.
No, but thank you for the slam on Sean Hannity's lack of/crude stylistics and preparation. I am so bored with him, sorry to say. NO depth of character that shows, he rarely does his research and he's just this cheerleader for the right that gets me because it is so broad and crude in its sweep. Rush, for all his bluster, is ten times more subtle and effective than Sean. Sean, grow up. It's not high school anymore. Mouthing political slogans, even though they may be "right" does NOT do us on the right any good. As for Colmes, Sean just doesn't want to risk his professional friendships to really nail him to the wall.
There are absolutes, Sean H., and you've got the microphone to take the message home. Do it -- quit pussyfooting around with pandering to "Flipper" b.s. and all the rest. It's tired.
Alan Colmes, although I've heard that off stage he is a very kind man and a gentleman, reminds me of Eleanor Clift, in that he can never find anything wrong with a fellow democrat. I don't watch Hannity and Colmes all the time, but the times I have seen it, this is always the case. On the other hand, most conservative journalists WILL criticize when members of their party screw up. The only conservative that would fit that similar mold as described above would be Fred Barnes. He is the eternal optimist.
It's mostly show. Sometimes it looks like he is actually frustrated to keep repeating the lines but he has his contract. As long as he is the 'minor' player and keeps getting 'whupped on' it's ok. As you said he is usually courteous and expresses admiration and friendship with some conservative guests.
....EXCEPT right after a presidential debate. Can't stand to watch Brit's panel then.
I saw it too. Hannity did fine with that maggot/early VVAW member/kerry co-conspirator Bobby Muller......Hannity had him cursing and trying to invoke the "you weren't even there" attempt to disqualify the facts Hannity was putting forth.
Bobby Muller is at least as responsible as kerry for the popular falsehoods about Vietnam Veterans.....and for LONGER than kerry....kerry just fell into step with him and the VVAW in 1970.

Alan Colmes looks like the Crypt Keeper.
I saw it, and Colmes got his clock cleaned. Colmes just repeats the RAT talking points without checking to see if it is true or not.
I didn't see it either as my son had rented a movie and wanted to watch that on my DVD player. I used to like Colmes when he was just a liberal, but lately he has become really leftwing
I keep Fox on a lot..but my "don't miss hour" is Special Report and I also watch Fox Sunday morning..I can't take Alan C anymore so I manage to miss most of night time Fox most of the time.
What really gets me about Comes is when he comes out with his so-called proofs
there was a long thread about this ongoing last night when it was on.....I didnt see it, I had missed it....but everyone really said Hannity got him good....so I waited up and watched it.....OH MY WORD Sean wiped the floor with that guy and even Alan Combs seemd sorta put off by his yelling and carrying on....what about that hammering on the desk and saying NiXON WAS IMPEACHED, NIXON WAS IMPEACHED.. HAHAHHA he was a MORON and really was hilarious... of course Nixon wasnt impeached, he resigned for the good of the country and the party.... it was truly a good watch, I must say....
