Vatican: Kerry guilty of heresy; incurrs automatic excommunication
EWTN The World Over ^ | 10/15/04

Posted on 10/15/2004 7:20:42 PM PDT by St. Johann Tetzel

Dramatic development in the fight for the Right to Life and the standing of pro-abortion Catholic politicians.

Today, in EWTN's news magazine The World Over, canon lawyer Marc Balestrieri revealed that the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has certified that the Church's condemnation of abortion is part of Catholic doctrine and of natural law, and as such, any one who publicly contradicts this doctrine is guilty of heresy and incurrs an automatic excommunication.

Click here to download the Roman Congregation's response.

Earlier this year, Marc Balestrieri filed a heresy lawsuit against Senator John F. Kerry for his public and obstinate support of abortion rights. This lawsuit remains active in the tribunal of the Archdiocese of Boston. Today, Mr. Balestrieri announced in the same program that he will file new charges against the most egregious offenders, including Senator Ted Kennedy (D-Mass) and Susan Collins (R-Maine), whose pro-abortion voting record is well known.

To find out more about Marc Balestrieri's efforts, to join the class-action canon lawsuits against Kerry et al. as an aggrieved party, or to contribute towards his ministry, visit his website, www.defide.org

ASSUMING that the Vatican's position is as outlined in the letter above (and that's a good assumption,) the reason that you've not heard this from NBCCBSABCCNN et al is that the Vatican ain't stupid.

Their legate in the US can read the newspapers and knows all about the Demorat "suppression" and other claims; they also know that the Dims would be very happy to claim that the Church interfered with the election and sue everybody in sight for as long as it takes to get Kerry in there.

The Vat doesn't want that any more than you or I do.

In addition, I think the Vat's going to require all the USBishops to send warning letters to CINO pols who support abortion, which is a nicety, but it's 'on paper.' Those CINOs who fail to cooperate with the warning will then be subject to public announcement of their voluntary self-imposed excommunication.

AFTER the election...

"Procuring an abortion" includes the doctor, the nurses, and the woman

I'm sure you recall indirect, direct, formal and informal cooperation from your studies at the Sem.

Apply them and voila! Politicians are included if they voted FOR abortion funding.

he is divorced and remarried outside the Church without the benefit of an annulment

I don't think that you can prove this contention.

Kerry's an excommunicandus based on the abortion question alone and likely now regrets deeply having married Teresa, regardless of the validity.

Heee, heee, heeee.

But, a public excommunication of a public official would not be announced by an O.D. canon lawyer in an "unofficial" letter.

You're good at raising extraneous issues. Nobody said anything at ALL about "public" excommunications.

Further, it's clear that Sitetest has a much better understanding of Romanita than you do, when he states that 'Rome has let it be known what it wants...in the WAY it wants it to be let known.'

You continually fail to see the elephant in the room because you're occupied with the stray hay on the carpeting.

Too much modernistic crapola at the Sem, my man.

I think a televised "bell, book & candle" service is in order

May I add that a formal Trial of Heretic follow that ceremony with a lighting of a LARGE Bonfire. We could even use the candle before it's extinguished, to light the wood!!

St. Tomas Torquemada, pray for us!

Of course, Sitetest could be made Cardinal without ordination. McCarrick should retire soon, anyway.

We would expect Sitetest to immediately establish the Tomas Torquemada Gentlemen's Club as an adjunct and fully-funded Archdiocesan office, and direct us to begin operations in the Washington, DC area.

Heh, heh, heh. Torch-bearers, HO!!

I don't think that you can prove this contention.

Kerry was "remarried" in 1995 in a civil ceremony. He first filed for an annullment (which has not been granted) in 1997.

I would couch my defense in these terms: "he DID believe it is always gravely immoral (except in self-defense of the mother...life of the mother), but he would not impose that view on others."

Correct--but it's immaterial. His voting record incurs the latae sententiae (and if necessary, the paperwork/formal) excommunication.

It's the ACTION, not the rhetoric.

Tomas Torquemada Gentlemen's Club will allow your representation of Lurch. Prepare hard and don't be real disappointed if you "lose" a client in a bonfire.

OSV?? Isn't that owned by the same folks who publish the National Crackhead Reporter??

I don't think so.

The "Register" is Opie; the "Crackhead" is, yeah, well, Milwaukee-born/raised-Jesuit educated Tom Fox.

But I have no foggy idea who puts out OSV except it's not Tommy Fox.

Kudos to your Mom for a great quip which is dead-accurate as well!!

the Church doesn't believe in capital punishment anymore

Not so fast.

The Church discourages capital punishment if the particular state or nation has the resources and the facilities to keep the perp jailed for life.

Now in the case of burning a heretic, it just so happens that the Church does NOT have the facilities to keep the so-and-so jailed for life.

QED: Bonfire Time!

I think that this speaks to Catholics and Protestants alike in that God says we sin not doing the good we know we ought to do (I think the nuns who taught me in grade school would call that a "sin of omission").

COrrect.

And, FYI, this is the "morality which cannot be legislated," in case anyone tries to tell you that laws against (e.g., homosexual activity) are invalid because "you can't legislate morality."

Their take on the old saying is erroneous, but quite convenient. Few recall the actual meaning...

I usually only have someone try and tell me that "You can't legislate morality" once. When they tell me that I ask them, "Really? Then why is prostitution illeagal?" The fact is that all laws are based on a code of moral conduct.

It's just that some people have a hard time admitting it. ;-)

My grandfather was excommunicated in 1919 for marrying my Lutheran grandmother

I take it that he did not marry her before a Catholic priest, but rather went to the Lutheran church to do the deed.

sKerry's supporters like to refer to him as "a devout Catholic". He dated Theresa for "a short courtship" before they moved in together. They were later married in a civil ceremony withouth his having obtained an annulment from his first keeper, even though they are relatively easy to buy once a price is settled upon with the church, which they obviously could afford. He sought an annulment not long ago, no doubt for purposes of personal politcal gain.

There are some unknowns here (although I'm perfectly willing to believe that your narration is true.)

We do NOT know if the annulment was granted, unless Kerry, his ex-wife, or a Churchman actually said so on record.

IF the annulment was granted, Kerry could have had his marriage regularized, privately.

Admittedly, this would be something he'd be happy to have "out" unlike his Navy records...

But it's irrelevant. His excommunication is patented based on his heresy and support of abortion.
