Just got a call from my mother informing me that my cousin , Eric Miner , was one of the Americans killed in the restaurant bombing in the Green Zone on Thursday . I will do some praying now , then call Mom back for more details .
My prayers are sent up for you and your family....
Hey, sorry to say I don't recognize your name. I can get what you're thinking somewhat. I don't understand why husbands and wives join the military and serve at the same time and leave the childrens' care to others.
It's too sad.
I bring this up because I really don't understand it.
The money was good , yes , but for the most part he felt it was his duty to be over there .
My prayers are going up now for your family and your loss. God bless you.
He is a valiant hero!
" That's your tribute to your cousin, a cut and paste news item? "
You asked to know a little about him and the story included some . It wasn't meant as a tribute .
Eric was a patriot who felt he had a duty to be over there in Iraq . He was in the Green Zone which was supposed to be the safest place to be over there . It wasn't ...
" Do you have any reflective conclusions from this event other than Islam is a scourge that needs to be exterminated from the face of the Earth? "
Needless to say , I am very , very angry at this moment . Islam and Christianity are incompatible on this planet IMO ; it's either them or us as I see it . I don't know how my cousin felt about it as I didn't see him for some years . I am in Japan in case you didn't know .

Actually I didn't mention money. I understand though, money was good.

What my partner (who is a 100% disabled Vietnam Veteran) and I discussed was why in the world would a husband/wife team choose to both serve at the same time?)
That's what I meant.
And am very sorry you lost a loved one. I've lost many loved ones over the years also. They served in Vietnam. Korea and WWII. Just lost a good buddy last week. Taps to him.
You have my prayers!
Barlowmaker did mention $ , and you had replied to him , hence my mention of it . Thanks for your condolences .
Our nation grieves with you and your family. Your sacrifice cannot be overstated. God bless all of you and God bless all our servicemen and women. God also bless our Commander in Chief and grant him wisdom.

It's a shame.
Not to know/understand taps. And the meaning!!!
I am so sorry to hear that.
My cousin is there now, after serving in Iraq. My brother (an SF medic) ships to Afganistan next month.
God's blessings and peace upon your cousin and you and your family.
Prayers for you and your cousin's family.....
I am so very sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
May your whole family experience God's comfort
prayers and appreciation.
May God bless you and keep you, may God's face shine upon you and Eric's family and give you His peace that passes all understanding.
Your cousin...My Hero!
America, Home of the Free, because of the BRAVE!..Eric!
The outpouring of condolences from fellow Freepers has touched not only my heart , but also the hearts of the Miner family and his friends . Thank you so much ...
