For anyone watching Crossfire. Jon Stuart (spelling) host of the Daily Show is being deadly serious and is calling the show a lot of crap, that the show is hurting america, the show is bad, the hosts are political hackery, that the show is to debate as much as the WWF is to real wrestling.

Exaclty. I don't understand why either of those yuks is taken seriously as political commentators or why anyone thinks they have anything relevant to say. Maher, in particular, is a real asshat.

I would rather hit my pinky toe 15 times with a ball peen hammer than to subject my self to one of those shout show...

I don't even want to know how you know what it feels like to hit your toe with a hammer 15 times.

It's not meant to be taken seriously.

Unfortunately Jon does not see it that way and apparently neither does Kerry.

A comedian that takes himself seriously? Hello?

If she lives in a battleground state, I suggest making sure she doesn't vote absentee and surprising her with an overnight trip somewhere on November 1st. Long drive home, some car problems . . . problem solved.

"Stewart does not impress me as a serious intellect. He apes Bill Maher.
I'm not impressed with Maher either."

My big question is WHY are former comedians now "acting" like political experts being taken seriously at all? People shouldn't be bothered with babbling comic has beens who've shuffled into these new roles they play, and play poorly. John Stewart, Bill Maher, Al Franken and Garofalo. Wow, ooh how impressive. Former comic tools who've been put out to pasture on the White House lawn.

The media and schools have created a populace that can only tolerate and consume information in the form of entertainment.

F911 anyone?

I don't find Stewart funny. He's a bit like my ex-mother-in-law.

Makes my ears bleed.

I had to use aluminum nails once and I probably hammered every finger 10 times, before I figured out that driving pilot holes wasn't a waste of time.

I don't know, I think they are two entirely different kinds of monkeys, but they do both have red monkey butts so if you weren't a monkey expert I could see why you might confuse the two.

Not that I'm a monkey expert myself, but I've had the mistake pointed out to me.

Just because it's on Comedy Central doesn't necessarily make it a comedy. Is everything on CNN or FNC news? It may be funny (on occasion) but it definitely has a point of view when it comes to politics.

Jon Stewart's heroes:

John Kerry Bill Maher Bill Clinton

Freepers - dont; be sucked in by Jon boy. He is a raving idiot who hates Bush and pretends like he goes after both sides. Thats bull. He sucks up to Clinton and Kerry when they go on his show. Quit giving this guy any credit just 'cos you think he is funny.

He hates Bush and that is psychopathic. Bill Maher is his chum...c'mon people..geta grip - I am sure the devil can rip a few good cracks but does that mean he is endearing?

Stewart does not impress me as a serious intellect. He apes Bill Maher.

He probably also thinks Jerry Lewis is a comedic genius.

Stuart is weak, boring, and ultimately, a loser. He has about 10 followers (all at DU - who are like 13 years old). Read the transcript of the CNN show - he falls apart, into an incomprehensible panic.

And by the way, I thought Tucker Carlson waw very good - tore him apart - kept pointing out how weak Stuart's questioning (puff balls) of Kerry was.

Bill Maher, suck ass 'libertarian' jack off extroadinaire was railing on Bush last night on Real time. Why do I torture myself to wade through Maher's BS to find a spec of comedy during his hate fest?

He sucks up to Clinton and Kerry when they go on his show.

He sucks up to nearly EVERYONE on his show, unless they get up on the stump and start spewing talking points. He's said that he'd love to have Bush on, and I'm sure he would give Bush plenty of respect, even though he doesn't like the administration.

It's the way the media acts as puppets for politicians that he really hates right now. I kind of feel sorry for him. He has to watch 24/7 news networks for his research, and it's driving him insane.

It's a sad state of affairs when a comedy program has to be the one to ask the tough questions. Heck, the man had Bill O'Reily on the other night and was completely respectful.

Stewart's said about the interview segments, "It's just so I don't have to write another 7 minutes of comedy programming. That's hard!"

Oh, and Tucker Carlson IS a dick.

[ And so what if he's voting for Kerry? My mother is voting for Kerry, should I take the fight to her too? ]

Absolutely... The ditz might listen you.. She will still vote for Kerry but at least you can say "THATS ok MAH!.. You're only a woman and not expected to be politically savy"..
