SCOOP OF THE DAY: Andrea Mackris, the Fox News Channel producer who is in a legal tussle with Bill O'Reilly over sexual harassment allegations, is a St. Louis native who graduated from Westminster Christian Academy in 1989. Jim Marsh, head of the small private day school, said that Mackris was editor of the Ambassador, the student newspaper, and "was very good at it." Marsh added: "She was a very good student, a very good writer."

Hello,

Being a resident of St. Louis, that did not grow up here (I grew up in Lake Ozark), the whole High School thing is "interesting". Over the years, I have been asked this all important question, and when I respond that I did not grow up here, the result is a riot. The questioner stares at me for a brief moment, then frantically searches for someone else to ask the "High School" question. Cracks me up!!

Glad to be here, MOgirl

"Why can't people simply suspend judgement until the facts come out?"

Well, of course that is what should be done. As for the high school thing, if you ever pass through St. Louis, we'd love to take you to dinner on "The Hill" and tell you all about this interesting phenomenon.

"...she's starting to resemble one of those men hating feminazis."

Wow, that's quite a charge. First you say you've heard she's fat, then you infer from her photo that no man would risk it all for the likes of her, and now you say she resembles a man-hating feminazi. You are strongly biased against her, and have offered no facts whatsoever.

In what way does she resemble a man hating feminazi?

Actually do not know if she is fat. The comment was made on Imus the other morning. She looks like a pretty angry young lady in that photo.

Have no information if the charges are true or not because there is NO EVIDENCE either way. Am looking at past attacks on conservatives and yes am skeptical.

I trust Bill about as far as I can throw him.

I always thought he went too far in his sexual comments on the air about the two women who join him on the Radio Factor.

But I would never put it past some to say anything for money, so who do I believe?

Let's try this one more time.

Mackris had left Fox and the employ of Bill O'Reilly for a better paying job at CNN. She said harassment extended back to her first employment. In spite of this, she begged to get her old job back.

Second, though she says she was distressed by phone sex, she didn't hang up.

Third, she proceeded straight to the lawsuit, rather than to Legal or Human Resources, who would have been obligated to take it seriously in the best interests of the company.

To conclude, this stinks. Her background is neither here nor there. Bill O'Reilly's worthiness as a pundit or host is neither here nor there. We should be saying, let justice be done. And Mackris being the cause of O'Reilly's fall, on the surface, does not appear to be just.

Regards, Ivan

Why would it matter where she went to school

Ammo for the O'Reilly haters. If she went to a Christian school, certainly she can't be lying.

I am offended when people try to say that Bill O'Reilly is a conservative. Greatly offended.

I am a conservative and I disagree with him more than I agree.

Don't let the liberals tag us with him. He is a damnable populist, just a high priced Jim Hightower.

It's a little bit relevant. Someone with her character I would expect to come out of San Jose, or Seattle, or San Francisco. The people in St. Louis are, generally speaking, the kindest, most considerate, and most honest of any big city in which I've lived, which includes all of the ones mentioned.

So yeah, if you've lived in St. Louis, this is a little bit of a shock.

The filing says, "Westwood One and Bill O'Reilly utilize this forum (his radio show) to preach the principles of the so called "compassionate conservatism" exposed by George W. Bush and the Republican Party."

My thoughts exactly when I read the entire complaint. There are too many political references in it as far as I am concerned. What did this have to do with anything?

agree. plus i have no respect for a woman who follows a man back to a job, then files charges against him for "harassment' when she hasn't taken the proper steps first, including firmly and clearly stating he must stop the behavior.

it is a set-up, of course. but naturally those among us are quick to rush to judgment and eat our own, as usual, cuz we are SO RIGHTEOUS.

I'm a former St. Louisan and know several people who went to that school, though not at the same time as the woman in question attended. From what I've heard, it seems she may not have adopted all of the lessons taught at WCA to her adult life.

Bad apples in every barrel. How many different cities have you lived in? If many, you will see overall differences.
