I'm calling it for Bush today, 10/15/2004.
Bush 320 Electoral Votes, Kerry 218 Electoral Votes.
I am hoping for 350...even 400, but at this point am predicting 320. That would still frost the libs to the point of making any of their planned contesting meaningless.
agree.
The only thing that gives Democrats the presidency anymore is California. Make California Republican and the WH would never be Democrat again.
Thanks for the ping.
The newspaper will tell you based upon your ward and precinct etc.
Or, go to the county election office and ask.
BTW, are you ready for the Seinfeld DVD set? I am going to have to put that on my Christmas list...
Bush 284, Kerry 254
I'll take that...but hope and believe it will be a wider margin.
Jeff, although I embrace the same beliefs as you, your comment above hit home especially hard this weekend.
Our church is in a small town here in rural Pennsylvania. It is a church with very old and trusting roots, and we leave a door unlocked twenty-four hours a day, so that anyone can come in and pray, or simply seek haven. In the nearly one hundred years that the church has stood where it has, that open door has welcomed many a stranger who sought refuge, counseling, conversation, or simply quiet solitude.
I opened the church this morning for our usual 8:00 choir practice only to find that someone had entered that open door this week with other ideas in mind. The church's computer and other office equipment and many valuable kitchen appliances and equipment were stolen. I also discovered this morning that the CD/tape player that we had purchased for the choir just last year was taken as well. We had planned to use the CD player this morning, since our choir anthem required an elaborate orchestral CD accompaniment.
In a very small, personal way, your 'lace up our boots, cinch up our trousers' came into play for us this morning, Jeff. My choir, after coming to grips with what had occurred, and asking for His guidance in working without accompaniment, got down to business and spent our practice hour honing an attempt at an a cappella rendition of an anthem that we have been practicing for weeks with full orchestral accompaniment. They did not fall apart. They did wring their hands and bemoan the fact that the circumstances had changed. They adapted, and poured themselves into making do with the resources at hand.
The result was that we performed our anthem in an entirely different way than we had intended. But it was (as) well done (as possible, under the circumstances) -- and the congregation was perhaps even more appreciative and receptive to our musical offering than they otherwise might have been.
That got me to thinking about a couple of things:
(1) In the same room as our CD/tape player are two four-drawer filing cabinets in which I have several hundred irreplaceable choir anthems stored. (I have compiled a collection of anthems that choir directors had selected over the entire history of our church some of them virtually invaluable, wonderfully inspirational old pieces that really are not performed anymore (except by us :), that have been out of print for years, and that (for those reasons) are priceless treasures.
The CD player that was taken will no doubt wear out, or become technologically obsolete, within a few years. But those precious anthems some irreplaceable sat in that filing cabinet, undisturbed. Of no interest to the thieves. For that, I am more grateful than I can express.
(2) I believe what happened at our church this week represents a microcosm of the philosophy that we all must embrace during this particularly precarious, pivotal point on our nations history. There are thieves at the door. They may well steal this election --either outright, or by virtue of painting beautiful, alluring lies that will be believed by those who do not know better. But, should they succeed in doing so, we need to do the 'lace up our boots/cinch up our trousers' thing in response.
I believe a Kerry presidency will prove to be a (perhaps the) deadly turning point in our history. There will be much to fear. But never should we succumb to the idea of simply turning this republic over to those who have either no knowledge of, or no respect for, her foundations and roots no matter the outcome of one election. With a Kerry presidency, we will be one step closer to declaring the planned, complete irrelevance of our Constitution, the abdication to the government of rights that were bestowed by God, and the absolute vulnerability of the American experiment to madmen who are obsessed with our annihilation. But never should we allow any of those things to be accomplished without a fight, no matter who sits in the White House.
Last night I came home extremely dejected from about nine hours of door-to-door campaigning in predominantly democrat neighborhoods. The Kerry supporters I could not reach were rabid and immovable in their hatred for President Bush, their unquestioning support of socialist doctrine, and their belief that the war on terror is in many ways just a politically convenient smokescreen. The Kerry supporters and 'undecideds' that I was able to reach, were wonderfully receptive and appreciative. But they represent a much, much larger number of uninformed, or ill-informed, voters on whose doors no one will be knocking between now and November 2nd. The numbers are frightening.
My point in all of this is that, between now and November 2nd, we all must do what is within our personal capabilities to inform and educate those with whom we come into contact. He would have us do no less.
We all hope that November 2nd will represent a return to power of those who recognize the evil represented by Muslim extremism and are prepared to respond effectively. There are forces here within our borders not as overtly violent, but every bit as evil, who are working feverishly to see that that does not happen. They are planning to steal this election through a combination of lies, voter fraud, and judicial interference. And they are claiming that 'our side' is perpetrating the same, so that the average voter will believe that the lies and fraud are a wash when, in reality, the leftists have a corner on the deceit and corruption, and the conservatives commit both only by convenient, unfounded leftist accusation. Yet most voters are incapable of discerning the difference.
Just as President Bush's supposed negligence in his National Guard service somehow equates in a political wash with John Kerry's treasonous betrayal of his fellow soldiers, and commiseration with the enemy, during the prosecution of a war, so will the fraud and criminal activity being perpetrated by the left during this election find itself equated with fabricated stories of the same activity being performed by the other side. And the voting public will scratch its head and consider both sides equally guilty.
If the results of November 2nd see a Kerry/Edwards victory, the writing on the wall that we on this forum have seen for a very long time will eventually become glaringly apparent to the rest of the populace (let's just hope it doesn't first arrive in the form of 9/11 revisited, or worse). Our part will be to simply continue as we have been working to inform the apathetic, and to expose the leftist liars. He would have us do no less.
He doesn't guarantee our success in preserving America especially since much of our nation has forsaken Him but He does know, and will always know, who are the faithful working righteously, and who are the liars working evil. And, in the eternal scheme of things, that is all that really matters.

Oh Joanie ... I'm so sorry to hear of your church's vandalization and theft. Amazing that there are those who would take advantage thus. I know that, walking the Camino last fall, I was most grateful for the ancient little churches in the tiny little towns which thoughtful folks would leave unlocked so pilgrims like myself could not only rest a moment but pray for a bit before the tabernacle.
You're right that CDs can be replaced but the pages cannot. For those reasons, I'd feel sorry for any thief who thought to make a killing on my place ... nothing of "real value" here ...
Congratulations on having a group ready and willing and able to surmount such a blow with all due grace. I suspect your leadership has a lot to do with that.

So sorry for the thievery at your church. But they didn't take anything that can't be replaced thankfully.
Keep up the good work!
Excellent comments Joanie, I'm sorry to hear about your church being robbed, having been robbed myself in downtown
Atlanta three times, there is such a feeling of violation,
plus the fact that it usually isn't for days that you find
out what else is missing.
Sad to think that a person in need, who if they had just approached the congregation, would have received
so much more, given in love.
We will not falter at a Kerry administration, nor will we
fail in our duty to the generations to come.
The torch of freedom was not passed to us by government but
by HIS hands and we will not give it up.
The repression and oppression of a Kerry administration
is something of which we have no doubt, the militarization
of our nations youth into "National Service" is a clear
indicator of the plan which Kerry is unwilling to put directly to the people, that high school students would
be REQUIRED to fulfill "Community Service" just to graduate
is in opposition to everthing this nation was founded on.
The party of which Kerry is the figurehead has realized that
a war is the most opportune time to initiate social engineering, they will stop at NOTHING to get that power
in their hands again. If they succeed, we can be assured
that we will be on their lists of terror organizations.
Those of us who are armed, will find ourselves under scrutiny, while those of us who aren't will find that under
the new laws they cannot provide for their own defense, from
criminals or oppressive government.
As Claire Wolfe says, "...the time of indecision will be over."
I think you're a national treasure too.
You should have your own blog, there are a lot of
folks that need to see the kind of clear thinking
of which you are so able.

Outstanding Joanie!
You have their number when you talk about them committing all kinds of crimes and then accusing "us" of doing the same. Most people don't see through it.
THank you for everything that you are doing! We need to win this one, more than any election in our history.
You're the greatest.
Amen.
God has not called us to win, necessarily, in the short run.
He has called us to be faithful to the truth.
And those who do remain faithful always win in the end.
Joanie, I agree with CfromKS that the most important point in your post is that the liberals commit all the crimes, accuse conservatives of committing them too---even though they usually aren't---and then most people figure they're both guilty. They're already doing it with the election fraud.
Excellent post as always. You need to run for office. You are the kind of person who used to be in leadership, but we don't have enough of you there anymore. Hardly any actually, and that's the problem.
It is love of liberty like yours and backing it up with action, involvement, and faith that will turn the tide in the end. I believe we can have a victory now...a small turning of a ship that has been plowing forward for several decades.
If not here and now, then elsewhere, later...and every bit we do now leads to the eventual triumph.
