I live in Southwestern Ohio and I am registered Republican. Normally all I receive are republican mailers. Today I recieved a postcard for Ann Thompson for State Rep. District 30. Nowhere on this mailer does it state that this candidate is a Democrat.
I called the Office number and they said they were not required by law to say this candidate is a democrat.
This is deceipt and trickery of the worst kind!! Kerry hates the thought of being labeled a LIBERAL. This lady doesn't even want to be labeled a DEMOCRAT!!! UN-FREAKIN-BELIEVABLE!!!
If anyone has the time, please call (513-385-0227) or email (at.co@one.net) to tell her that she should be REQUIRED to wear the albatross label of democrat. ESPECIALLY when she mails to REPUBLICANS!! I also sent her office the following letter, and informed her Republican opponent of what she is trying to do:
"I think it is an outrage and I am contacting your opponent and other avenues to let voters know of your attempt at trickery. I am continually appalled at the levels that DEMOCRATS will stoop to get votes by any means possible. It truly is the party of deceit and trickery. Democrats do not want to be labeled as such because everybody knows they are the party that cry's about things that are not true to get their way.
The DEMOCRAT party is the one that is registering in prisons to get the votes of people who have committed crimes BEFORE THEY ARE CONVICTED OF FELONIES.
The DEMOCRAT party is the party that has TOLD ITS MEMBERS TO ACCUSE OF VOTER INTIMIDATION EVEN IF NONE EXISTS.
The DEMOCRAT party is the one that continually funds SOCIAL programs that I HAVE TO PAY FOR BUT I GET NO BENEFIT FROM.
With all these albatrosses, I can see why you wouldn't be proud of your party, but I still think it’s deceitful of you not to mention it on your postcard WHEN YOU SEND TO REGISTERED REPUBLICANS.
If you ever send me a postcard again I will complain to even higher election offices.
You should be ASHAMED of your attempt to deceive for votes, but you are a democrat so I know you HAVE no shame."

I've noticed on signs locally they don't want their party on it.
Get over it. When Dan Quayle first ran for Congress in 1976, he never used the word Republican on his own literature. Some people prefer to downplay their party ties if they feel it would hurt them where they are campaigning. It's politics and it's nothing new.

I dunno...I've heard a zillion radio ads locally for Abel Maldonado, who is running for California legislator in our district. He uses the word "independent" but never once mentions he's Republican, in a heavily Latino Democratic area.
Maybe this whole thing surprises me so much since like I said, I'm a registered Republican, and most, if not all of the mailers I get are from Republicans. I'm pretty well up on the subject and I know all the Repub names. Which is why this one didn't ring a bell. So I looked it up and found she's a dim and I'm pissed. The worst cities in ohio have been run by dims for years. Cleveland for 15 years and ineer Cincinnati for at least that long. I'm more familiar with Cincinnati and I've seen the dims make it a freaking cesspool...but they blame our President?? Thats just ridiculous. I wouldn't vote dim if my life depended on it....but the people inside city limits do every year and bitch every year...doesnt make sense to me.
If she's a Dem... she's either stupid or sinister.
Since she's running for office in SW Ohio... and she won't disclose she's a Dem... she's obviously not stupid.
