For the last few days I've been treating a big fireant bed in my front lawn here in Houston. Treat it one day, it just moves to a new location by the next day. Also have lost two Bush/Cheney signs this week. When I got my new sign I decided to pound it as hard as possible into that big ant bed and the black gumbo soil below. When I went to get the paper at 4:30 this morning I noticed the sign was laying in the grass. Not stolen like before but flung a few feet from the ant bed. I can just imaging someone planting themselves firmly and pulling up as hard as possible - until all those little critters found their way up his pant legs.
.
Be sure to set one to get the license number on their car.
If you don't have a video camera .. borrow one and catch them in the act!! It's a crime to steal election materials.
This reminds me of "ring & run". Some of the kids in our neighborhood used to put dog poo in a paper bag, light it on fire, leave it by the door, ring the doorbell, & RUN!!!!!
While I never participated myself, it was fun to hear the different stories.
Anyway, just take some of your pets remains and smear it on the most likely place where the "sign nappers" are going to grab it. Yuuuccchhhhhkkkkk!
I LOVE your solution! Where do you get "Skunk Shot Gel" and where did you get your alarm---Radio Shack?
I have to say, however, I DO like the Fire-Ant bed story just above yours.
I have been seeing commercials for magnetic door alarms. I have seriously been thinking of setting up a trip wire to an alarm to alert me that the signs I have been putting up that were being stolen.
I also like the story of the guy who stayed up "watching" for a repeat sign stealer after getting his sign stolen the night before. He had his dog on an extra long leash and when the thief came by the next night, he let his dog "introduce" herself to the thief who had run to the back of his car, while the homeowner conveniently punched the power door locks on the thief's running car and shut the door.
Forty minutes later, when the cops arrived, the homeowner mentioned/suggested that the guy might just happen to smell like he had been drinking a little too much. Sure enough, the cop hauled him in for some kind of drinking offense.
Yah, with a little imagination we can have a whale of fun while causing some major distress to a few RATS.
VERY Nice!!!
LMAO...
HAHA!
Excellent idea. Maybe they will learn this time. :)
There's no 'off' position on a conservative's genious switch.
I saw some thug steal a Bush sign today in broad daylight! I couldn't believe they were so brazen.
They were going west and they stopped their truck and the passenger, a boy about 18, got out and ran (very very fast) across the road through the two lanes of east-bound traffic, ran up into the yard and yanked the sign out of the ground, ran back across the two east-bound lanes (laughing the whole way) and tossed the sign into the back of the truck.
There was a van in the right lane that stopped and made a phone call on the spot. This was in Lake Mary, FL (NE Orlando) on H.E. Thomas, Jr. Parkway around 2:30 p.m.
Those thieves are cruising around in their truck yanking up Bush signs in broad daylight!

Epidemic of Campaign Vandalism Continues
Reports of such sign vandalism are flooding in from all over the country, along with far worse violence being perpetrated by Democrat partisans.

I live in a very rural Ohio area, and I had two Bush/Cheney signs stolen, and my brother in law had a sign, and a big banner on his property stolen as well.
I can't prove who did it, but the lowlife creep across the road now has a big homemade sign saying "Bushit" in his front yard. You don't KNOW what that does to my blood pressure to have to see that when I go in and out of my driveway.
I'm sure he wants Kerry elected, since he is on disability, but putters around in his yard all day, among other more "suspicious" activities. He is a lowlife. something he and his candidate have in common.
I solved my problem of sign theft by putting the word out at our local grocery, where word spreads like wildfire. Let's just say I made it clear that I am making sure this sign stays intact.
