For the last few days I've been treating a big fireant bed in my front lawn here in Houston. Treat it one day, it just moves to a new location by the next day. Also have lost two Bush/Cheney signs this week. When I got my new sign I decided to pound it as hard as possible into that big ant bed and the black gumbo soil below. When I went to get the paper at 4:30 this morning I noticed the sign was laying in the grass. Not stolen like before but flung a few feet from the ant bed. I can just imaging someone planting themselves firmly and pulling up as hard as possible - until all those little critters found their way up his pant legs.
You know, a couple of vials of wasp bait/attractant "accidentally" spilled on that sign might not go amiss. (Just be darned sure to wash your hands thoroughly after applying it). Combine that with some warm floodlights that keep the sign lit and warm 24/7, and you too can "use the beasts of the fields and the birds in the sky for your armies" too.
LOL!
I don't want to do that to the poor Fed-Ex guy!
But thanks!
After the election is over, you might want to try Over 'n Out! (works best if you put it down in early in the Spring). I've been using it for two years and I've had no mounds in my yard this year.
I got rid of my fireants with RoundUp, but there is a huge dog in the neighborhood who leaves a rather large pile in our yard & that really ticked me off, until I decided to relocate it in front of my Bush/Cheney sign. Doesnt show up at nite and will leave a lasting impression on any intruders..

Tanglefoot Bird Repellent adheres to all surfaces while retaining its soft, sticky elasticity. It simply deters nuisance birds from their resting places by making roosting areas undesirable. Registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Tanglefoot Bird Repellent is clear and odorless, and can be easily replaced or re-coated as the sticky material collects feathers, dust and other debris.
but some were questioning the legality of it.
If someone stole your fishing pole and got their thieving hands cut on the hooks, what's the difference?
Sorry, was Over N Out, not RoundUp!!
Good point.
LOL! Fabulous.
I've seen exactly ONE car with a US flag and a Kerry sticker. Far more common are "the Rainbow" or a " War Never Solved Anything".
Give them a little zot, eh?
Absolutely! Maybe they are getting fed up with all the calls they are getting around here about stolen Bush signs. Or, maybe they are Bush supporters.
The tanglefoot is a great idea, plus it has a distinctive odor!!. Have you ever tried to get that stuff off your hands?... it's really difficult, you get it all over everything you touch and the smell lasts for days.
Again regarding the Tanglefoot, as some of these so called people will eventually smarten up and start wearing gloves, put some on the ground around the signs and let them track it all over.
Leave a note on the sign somewhere saying "Theft of this sign guarantees that we will donate $20 to the BC04 campaign. Thank you for supporting BC04."
no one has bothered my signs yet but I have replacements ready in case they are taken.
She grabbed his guitar & smashed it, he didn't even look up, he just reached behind the couch, grabbed another guitar & kept playing!
Keep playing you'all!
