SPIN THOSE POLLS! SPIN THOSE POLLS! (Do not vote in any of the online polls tonight)

SPIN THOSE POLLS! SPIN THOSE POLLS! [10/13 02:50 PM]

UPI reports on the efforts to spin online polls and mass-mailed letters to the editor.

President George W. Bush and Sen. John F. Kerry will walk across the stage Wednesday night and greet each other at the beginning of the third and final presidential debate. Already, across the country, e-mail messages are arriving in newsroom inboxes declaring a winner. A new form of spam is emerging this fall, called debate-spin spam, experts told UPI's The Web. The veracity of the e-mail messages being sent as letters to the editor is coming into question, as are the timing and content of many of the messages, because a significant percentage is being generated by bots, or intelligent software agents.

Which reminds me, it's time for the Pajamahadeen to continue our jujitsu operations. We had some success recently, but I think it's time to set our sights higher.

As usual, the instant online polls of news organizations, that the DNC is steering its members to here, will be less valuable and useful if the result is so stunningly skewed that no one believes it. So a poll that shows Kerry won 99 percent to 1 percent is less useful to the DNC than one that shows Kerry won 70 percent to 30 percent....

Noticed that too.
They'll say whatever sounds good to get people to vote for them regardless of what they really are saying.
They'll promise anything, and then do whatever they want.
They also seem to care only about raising taxes any way they can, ostensibly to 'stick it to THEM' whoever 'they' are, and controlling people.

I'm beginning to think that the 'they' the dimwits want to tax are US, and anyone else who has one dollar more than the Dims think they should have.

Why let them know how many people there are out there who really support Bush. Let them live in their fantasy world where all is right and Kerry is 99% winner. Then let election day reality crush them.

The problem with that theory is that the MSM will use their power to discourage Bush voters from voting. What is the use to go to the polls if Bush has no chance of winning? Crushing Kerry is by no means a sure thing. Ceding a battle, any battle, to the MSM does not seem like a wise course of action to me.

Possible. But I just don't see Bush voters not going to the polls. I think there are too many issues Bush voters want to vote on that this isn't going to matter. Bush voters have a reason other than "anyone but sKerry" to vote. sKerry voters don't. They hear their guy is winning they will sit home....except for the dead ones.

Someone on the DU side has an automatic spammer, I don't think it would do any good to vote...the only thing is to let these places know that the DU is in on the spamming!

Take a trip to your county voting office and politely ask for an explanation on how registrations are processed, how votes are tabulated, and how they are secured. And then volunteer.

I agree. There are more effective ways of getting Bush's message out.

Send transcripts of the debate to undecided voters you know or something.

Exactly. I am trying to move around the boards and dissuade the efforts to ping the polls on other threads.
