Linda Vester is currentlly interviewing Chad Clanton, described as a 'senior Kerry campaign advisor.'
Discussing the plans of the Sinclair broadcasting group to air "Stolen Honor," the documentary about Kerry's Vietnam war service, Clanton stated:
"They [Sinclair] better hope that we're not elected."
Vester immediately asked if that was intended as a threat to Sinclair that a Kerry administration would not renew their broadcast licenses. Clanton tried to back off, but the threat was unmistakable.
These people are thugs.
We have McPain and FeignGold to thank for this mess......grrrrrrr
The Democratic Party is a Political Alignment of Peace...
Chad had probably heard it elsewhere...the newswires had the comments up a few hours ago(the one I found is not something that the general public has access to)....BTW, the DEM FCC commish is gunning for chairmanship under a possible Kerry administration. The Financial Times had gone to him for some quotes three days ago figuring he was an interesting sound byte.
Rush made a point that Copps spoke on his own, that it is not a statement from the FCC and that Copp is usually against the grain with the others on the FCC. (or words to that effect)
Thanks for the info update
Copps stated: This is an abuse of the public trust. And it is proof positive of media consolidation run amok when one owner can use the public airwaves to blanket the country with its political ideology -- whether liberal or conservative. Some will undoubtedly question if this is appropriate stewardship of the public airwaves.
Anybody know where or how to contact Chad Clanton? I want to have a heart to heart talk with that little punk
Yes, there is.
And God help us all if these people regain power.
I'd suggest having a look at the Kerry website and using contact info there to direct a message to him.
There is now a Boycott Sinclair Broadcasting website, http://www.boycottsbg.com/advertisers/default.aspx
You can send an email to Sinclair advertisers from here, I sent an email in support of Sinclair and in support of free speech.
If John Kerry can handle these guys and their charges, how is he going to handle the job of President.
""They [Sinclair] better hope that we're not elected."
Bet he picked that one up from PeeWee Herman.
COMMUNISTIC CONTROL THREATENED
I found out that my cable does carry the sinclair station from Norfolk, so I'll be able to get it as well.
no no it was only written for michael moore..

~ Run that Kerry documentary movie! We at "Free Republic" support your decision to show "Stolen Honor" on TV. America needs to see the face behind the mask.

My emails to our 2 Nashville affiliates: WUXP and WZTV
Don't worry. They won't back down. The automated response their website sends people who write a comment about it pretty much says thanks and too bad if you don't like it. Props to them.
Dear Mr. Copps,I was very disappointed to read your scathing remarks concerning the planned airing of the documentary, "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal". It shows a rather blatant hypocrisy on your part when you can simultaneously preach condemnation against The Sinclair Broadcasting Group for this proposed airing, while you simultaneously look away as major networks like ABC, NBC, and CBS daily air their leftist propaganda thinly disguised as the evening news.
I would appreciate it if you reconsidered your position on this matter.
Sincerely,
Meyer
Yes we do, but the silver lining is that the elite NY media has been completely exposed, another great Bush legacy.
We will have much work to do to defeat and expose these imposters of the so-called "free and objective" press, no matter who wins.
