Kerry, you moron! Clinton treated terrorism as a nuisance and it cost 3000+ Americans their lives on 9-11, not to mention all the deaths terrorism has caused world-wide!

And now you want to treat terrorism the same as that slacker, Bill Clinton!

In an interview with Matt Bai published in today’s New York Times Magazine, Kerry made a very, very, very significant statement about how he would fight the war on terror. Kerry compared the war on terrorism with eradicating prostitution or illegal gambling.

''We have to get back to the place we were, where terrorists are not the focus of our lives, but they're a nuisance,'' Kerry said. ''As a former law-enforcement person, I know we're never going to end prostitution. We're never going to end illegal gambling. But we're going to reduce it, organized crime, to a level where it isn't on the rise. It isn't threatening people's lives every day, and fundamentally, it's something that you continue to fight, but it's not threatening the fabric of your life.''

Terrorism, a nuisance?

This is NOT a misquote:

"When I asked Kerry what it would take for Americans to feel safe again, he displayed a much less apocalyptic worldview.

I read an article on it last week -- written by the paper's sports photographer... turns out the paper was purchased by someone who DOESN'T LIVE IN CRAWFORD -- it's not even really published in Crawford -- the owner is a Bush-hater the people in Crawford are not happy with the situation, but its the same old media thing now days, absentee owners.. more and more papers are owned by groups who make the editorial decisions.

Search FR - several articles several days ago -

a small "upstart" local paper in Crawford TX - circulation of about 300 - keep in mind that although almost every state-wide office in Texas is held by a Republican many of the small-town locals in East Texas are "yellow-dog" democraps from birth - just because their daddy was!!

First they had to try and spin the "global smell test" statement, now they are going to have to try and spin this one fast before the debate.

I understand the intent (want to create a society where terrorism is so rare and impotent that nobody has to worry about it) but I don't understand why he would make the statement. He has to know how the President and his people are going to present this to the public.

I really think Kerry gets confused and makes up these convoluted answers as he talks. That quote is only one of many examples of Kerry saying nothing in 80 words or more.

Seldom does Kerry's responses to questions make sense.

Question? How can he make this statement and then criticise the President over not funding "Homeland Security?" another Kerry Oxy-moron.

When exactly was this magical time when terrorists were only a nuisance? Were they only a nuisance when they were blowing up things and murdering people overseas?

Were they only a nuisance on 9/10?

"I understand the intent (want to create a society where terrorism is so rare and impotent that nobody has to worry about it)..."

Actually, I don't think that's what he means at all. I think he means that we ought to believe him when he tells us that terrorism won't be a threat once we pull troops out of Iraq. He wants us to stop talking about terrorism and simply accept the "fact" that a thousand or so Americans will die every ten years or so.
