First they had to try and spin the "global smell test" statement, now they are going to have to try and spin this one fast before the debate.

I understand the intent (want to create a society where terrorism is so rare and impotent that nobody has to worry about it) but I don't understand why he would make the statement. He has to know how the President and his people are going to present this to the public.

Actually, I don't think that's what he means at all. I think he means that we ought to believe him when he tells us that terrorism won't be a threat once we pull troops out of Iraq. He wants us to stop talking about terrorism and simply accept the "fact" that a thousand or so Americans will die every ten years or so.

We will never get every single terrorist, but we can get pretty close. But, Kerry's attitude is not even that.

His attitude is let's just make it a "nuisance" and that is good enough.

When you see the entire quote, you see he views terrorism as a law enforcement problem, not one of a military naturre. That is how the Clinton admin viewed terrorism and look where it got us.

NO. That is NOT his intent. This is simply an extension of the *containment theory* beloved by the Dems and by those RINOS who hate W, which includes cadres in the Pentagon, the State Department, the NSC and the CIA. They think we should take a hit now and then and not worry about it rather than going into all out military response.

These are the people who don't care about terrorism anymore than they care about the degradation of our society, our culture or about our Constitution. They want a one world government under the UN, where we are but one nation forced to live like every other nation: at the mercy of armed thugs. Then, they think we will just give up and accept socialism while they rape our wealth and undermine our strength. In the end, they will live in their gated bunkers, protected by armed mercenaries, and we will live in highrise warrens content with whatever scraps we are allowed, without any means of legal self protection.

They want an oligarchy. They would agree to a degree of anarchy. Anarchy is what they want. Anarchy leads to fascism. These are the fascists.
