Just wanted to introduce myself, I stumbled on this place quite by accident and am quite pleased that I did. I was a Democrat all my life, and voted as such since the time I was 18. I wasnt really into politics, I just voted Democrat all the way down the line because my mom always said "The Democrats are for the poor people, and the Republicans are for the rich, and thats what my mother told me" I voted for Clinton TWICE!! (This is where I am hanging my head) 9-11 was a real wake up call for me. I started getting a real interest in what was going on around me. I stumbled on to Rush Limbaugh on day on my way home, I started questioning exactly what side I was on. I liked and agreed with what Rush had to say. I didnt know what the differances were really. I am so proud to say that I have figured out that I am a Conservative Republican. My mother and I still go round and round now that she see's I have gone over to the other side. I recently also discovered Sean Hannity, whom I just LOVE. I only watch Fox News now because it IS fair and balanced. What a wonderfull time to be alive, I never thought I would see such a political race that has gone the way it has. I am REALLY excited to finally see the "silent" majority waking up finally and speaking their minds and dusting off their boxing gloves. Any way, glad to meet you all and look forward to discussions!
I think I will never live down the Democrate oooopsy.
Don't feel bad -- you've made your thread memorable -- in fact, if your goof actually makes it into the FR Lexicon -- you should feel proud!
It's simple. In the mind of a Dem politician --- If the poor vote for you, why would you want less of them?
Republicans want everyone to be successful!!
You are nuts if you think something is wrong with this thread. This isn't exactly a demoralizing post, is it?
'epopel'
I was typing 'people', and have 'lydexsic' fingers as the joke goes.
My signature typo is 'the' being typed as 'teh'.
I can't figure out how to link to Cindy's post. I just wanted to say that I was pretty much a democrat up until September 11, too. Everything changed for me that day. I often wonder how I could have ever voted for some of the people I voted for in the past.
Welcome, Cindy. Proud to have you aboard.
I fell that I should be doing penance for my youthful folly.
What precisely are you trying to say? Hard to tell by your post.
Now go and spread the Good News to the four corners of your state ;-)
I second the "consider reading one of Ann Coulter's books"... and look at her archives. As I say on my "about page", I have not found anything I disagree with her about.
Welcome to FR... and use caution that you don't get trapped into believing the completely nutso extremist faction here (on several sides of many issues) speaks for us all.
I'm pretty sure Dennis was a Bushie in 2000...tell me if I'm wrong.
Welcome Cindy! I can relate to alot of what happened with you, only I have always voted Republican, but it was mainly because I am pro-life. Since 9-11 I have become addicted to the news. I also found FOX, Rush and Hannitty and was surprised and SO GLAD that there were people out there expressing my very feelings! I also come from parents who were Democrat because of the little guy and the poor. I must confess, I am right at the poverty line myself according to America's standard, but we have a roof over our heads and we never go hungry! I'm a single mother and have been told that I'm a fool for supporting this President because he doesn't give a care about those struggling financially. I just don't believe that, and there is NOTHING that will stop me from going out and voting for Bush this election day! This Terror threat is real and is the most important issue anyway. Glad you introduced yourself, I only found FR recently myself, and have been having the time of my life here! See ya around!
Bet you can't do anything with "untill".
From "un," which is a term of negation, and "till," a place to store money. Literally, "I'm broke."
Okay, you got me!
LOL!
To all who have misspelled:
No offense intended,
I've dun it myself.
