Andrew Sullivan on CSPAN 2 says he watched with other "Republicans" and they were all dismayed. Sullivan claims to not have heard any spin but his take is Bush and Cheney both came off as tired and have no solutions and his own "sense" is the call for fresh change is going to win.

Sully, sadly, can not think beyond the butt-sex issue. It consumes him and taints everything he does and says. Mental problems are like that.

Or at least, the presidents after cheney may have had some input, something I (and any of us, for that matter) don't really know.

Oh, so you are advancing the theory that the Prez is an empty suit fronting for Cheney.

Okay, I think I understand perfectly where you are coming from. Good day.

Milwaulkee said today that all newly registered voters must re-register on election day. This should be done all over the country!

CADDELL: 'Cheney hit [Edwards] on the inconsistency thing. Better lines - gotta hand it to him. Probably a cheap shot ('I just met you tonight'), but an effective cheap shot. Kept topic on War on Terror.

Yep, it was swell, and the best part is anticipation...because I think we've seen what Dubya is going to do to Kerry in round 2.

It's Reagan vs. Mondale all over again...

I recall twice during the debate hearing paper tear. Edwards also made a production of scribling quite loudly...all distraction obstacles which the VP stepped over effortlessly.

"Larry King is on TV, saying that there are so many new registered voters that the polls mean nothing."

He may be correct. But, what he and many of the pundits are missing is the fact that many of the newly registered are young adults and normally non-political citizens who have decided it's time to take a stand while we're at war. I work with several folks in their 20's who one would think are left wing cheerleaders. But, they're not. As one of them told me the other day, he just turned 23 a few days after 9/11, and he learned that day what it really meant to be at war. He saw his country attacked, and he wants some payback. He went on to say that Bush is the right man for the right job at the right time!!

More of the younger folks get it than perhaps we give them credit. The pundits expect them to all vote for the Dems. They will be sorely mistaken.

She asked better and fairer questions than Lehrer did, but she let Edwards get away with breaking a LOT of rules, and she didn't keep him reined in on the questions that were posed to him. Comparing her with Lehrer, I'd say she definitely did a better job, but that's kind of like saying that dying of a heart attack is better than dying in a car crash.

Didn't matter in the end - Cheney eviscerated Edwards in spite of the moderator.

I'd like to know how many times Edwards said "We have a plan...
As many times as Bush said, "we're working hard."

Difference is Bush is working hard. All Senators Surrender and Gone can say is "We have a plan..."

Too bad all their plans seem to be secret since they have not yet told anyone any SPECIFICS about their "plans".

Matthews: Thus far, after close to half a million votes having been cast on our online poll, contrary to what we've been saying here, the more scientific results of that poll are that 7 out of every 10 voters has Edwards winning tonight's debate.

lol!

>>>David Gergen said it was a draw.
The man is an absolute dolt and fits in very well at the Kennedy School of Dolts at Harvard.<<<<

Now everyone can see what it takes for the media idiots to give a nod to a republican. Cheney clearly won, and yet they can not bring themsleves to admit it.

Bush is up against high standards for Friday.

You are right. Silky was both OFFENSIVE and on the defense. He sure played both sides, didn't he. Silky was tearing his notepaper like a kindergartener in time out while Cheney was verbally tearing Silky's whole raison d'etre to pieces.

CADDELL: Standing up to Howard Dean vs. Al Qaeda - good line. (devastating) Fewer suicide bombers in Israel since not being paid by Saddamm (Pat had to stop and think about it, but this was a good point).

Preferred Cheney over Bush for focus.

What was that about anyway?

Ohh, Cheney was masterful. Nothing rattled him.

The only light flickering tonight is at Kerry-Edwards campaign HQ. Cheney put the heat back on Kerry's senate voting record tonight. Lets hope they hold onto that theme.
