It's multi-tasking at its best. Watch the debate and read/post your comments as it goes. It's like watching it with a couple of thousand buds. Better read fast!

yall sure get started early.
My debate refreshments include crawfish rolls with a lovely sweet dipping sauce, a nice cab to drink and Ben and Jerry's heath bar crunch ice cream.
I may just die of high cholesterol tonite but want to see Dick Cheney dust up the silk pony first.

A live thread is one in which a live event (such as the debates, the State of the Union speech, the UN Security Council meetings, etc) is going on. We watch the event and make comments as the event happens. It is the BEST way to watch these debates, as people point out errors, lies, etc.
You will enjoy it. Please stay and participate!

"There are certain elements of the Bond lifestyle I have yet to experience, Jay, but I'm hopeful." Dick Cheney, joking on the Tonight Show about being described in the New York Times as having a "James Bond-like aura"

Live Thread: Emergency Reassurances for Hand-Wringers!not the worst idea in the world . . . I remember four years ago someone posted pictures of kittens. No one can be that nervous looking at kittens.
Of course, I don't think those threads were as humongous as these ones are!

If they are they need to be removed. Why? Chrissy has both Kerry and Bush supporters in his audience and they are entitled to chant, but the Bush crowd with "Four More Years" continues to clearly dominate.

From Congressional Quarterly:
REPUBLICANS PUT RANGEL'S MILITARY DRAFT BILL ON DOCKET
Presidential politics takes to the floor of the House today, with Republican leaders trying to make a political point by decisively defeating a Democratic bill that would reinstitute a military draft. Campaign rumors accusing President Bush of secretly planning to bring back the draft have persisted despite a lack of any evidence to support them and consistent denials from the White House. "A lot of people were hearing nasty rumors," said Jonathan Grella, spokesman for Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas. "This needs to be put to bed." So, the GOP leadership decided late Monday to add to the suspension calendar a measure (HR 163) introduced in January 2003 by Charles B. Rangel, D-N.Y., that would require all U.S. citizens between the ages of 18 and 26, including women, to perform national defense service, either military or civilian. Rangel said Republicans were playing politics and he will vote against his own bill.

Checking in from remote dial-up location in the deep South--where nobody talks like John Edwards here either. Great observation!
JE speaks like somone who tried to lose his Southern accent, by replacing it with sissy/gay speech.
Hmmmm?
Spoken by one who needed to lose my Appalachian accent and speech patterns that I grew up with.
For the real deal, listen to Zell.
NN, hope all is well, and that we are done over this hurricane mess. As I lurked on the threads, I sent a poor prayer or two your way

Just imagine we're all in the same room commenting aloud on the debate. Except instead of talking, we're typing. Instead of listening, we're reading.
It's really a typing test.

Hey, don't do too much!!! You don't want to be tired for this! ;-)
I let the boys out and they ate. Put them to bed, so now I'm ready.
BTW.........for those that don't know. The boys are Theodore and Henry, our 2 dogs.
I hope Dick Cheney cleans the floor with the breck boy!

Please, don't nobody laugh at me... I'm confused. How's a live thread work? What's it for? I would describe it as a thread where posters gather to share comments on live event, as it occurs.
The real time responses make it lots of fun. It's like having around a hundred of your freinds over to watch the Cheney-Edwards debate together. I love it.
