In the aftermath of last week's debate, Bush leads Kerry 51 percent to 46 percent among those most likely to vote, according to polling conducted Friday through Sunday. Independent candidate Ralph Nader (news - web sites) claims 1 percent of the hypothetical vote. But Bush held only a three-point advantage among all registered voters, down from seven points in a Post-ABC News survey conducted before the debate.
A total of 1,470 registered voters were interviewed, including 1,169 who were determined to be likely voters. The margin of sampling error for results based on either sample is plus or minus three percentage points.
By a ratio of more than 2 to 1, these likely voters said Kerry won the first debate, on foreign policy and terrorism. The proportion of likely voters with a favorable view of Kerry grew from 39 percent immediately before the debate to 47 percent in the new poll. Bush remains slightly more popular, with 53 percent of all likely voters saying they had a favorable impression of him.

"surging enthusiasm for Kerry among Democrats and new doubts about whether the president has a clear plan to deal with terrorism and the situation in Iraq"
Wow... the Washington Post has reached new levels of bias. They have now attained the rank of Kerry cheerleader.
I'd love to know the polling numbers Karl Rove is getting in their own polls. Apparently, Kerry has gained at least a little momentum otherwise President Bush wouldn't have suddenly scheduled a "major speech" for tomorrow. Regardless, I'm completely confident he will be re-elected.
I wonder if this speech will mention the WMD's found that have been mentioned here on FR.
Re your reply #2
When discussing another member it's always good form to include in the "to" field the member you are discussing. The way I just did.
WMDs found? I missed that one. Link please?
WEll considering this is from the Wash Post and considering how dismal Bush was in the debate this is GOOD NEWS
Gotcha. Thanks!
The MSM -- Kerry campaign transcript service never misses an opportunity to insert the campaign line into news stories.
It really is getting tiresome. I don't know about other freepers, but I have let lapse or canceled every magazine, newspaper, and newsletter subscription. The ties between magazines and this tripe are many. The only way to fight it is take your money and buy a shiny new computer and contribute to FR. Make good use of your money, don't feed the MSM -- Kerry campaign transcript service.
So they are pretty much saying: "Yeah it's our poll, we took the time and spent the money to take it but we don't believe it so here's our spin." Unbelievable.
