Yes. He fingered to rotten Father and Terrorist shot his Mother. He is 13 years old. It is SAD. There are 9 year old FIGHTING in Darfu, starving and getting gang raped too. Iraq is his home. He made choices and there are consequences to those choices. America's ego is HUGE. Just bring him here, he is a kid....blah, blah. The poor sap has had US sanctions for his whole life. Give the kid a tooth brush and he'd stick it in his ear. He isn't ANYTHING like a 13 yr old.

If this boy can't be safe in Iraq, no other Iraqi collaborators can, either. That's not true at all. The reason this kid is in danger is because the Army burned their source and revealed the kid's identity during an interrogation. The kid risked his life to help us, and we repaid him with a careless, amatuer mistake.
A lone Iraqi child with no family support and a history of helping Americans isn't going to last an hour on the outside. If we show our sources that we might burn them and won't help them if we do, then we should expect our sources to dry up. Our HUMINT is hurting bad enough as it is, without doing stupid stuff like this to ruin our reputation. Bringing the kid to the States is a very small price to pay for what he provided us, and to compensate for what he lost.

for giving up a neighbor? No. not for giving up A neighbor.
For giving up 40 terrorists, including his terrorist father.

You DO make some valid points, and no, I am not a diversity maven. In fact, I am as sick of multiculturalism and "diversity" as you are.
However, my point is still valid as well. This kid is not going to distroy our culture any more than it already is. I also venture to say that Hanoi Jane and J Effin sKerry have done more harm to our culture than this kid ever could.

What? Now I have to shut-up because Iraqis might not get there trip to America for giving up a neighbor? Pleeze. No, but you might want to because of an 13 year old Iraqi who gave up his father, lost his mother, and who's life is in danger because our guys disclosed his indentity. I think that helping us screwed up his life pretty badly, and that saying 'tough luck kid, but thanks for the intel' is pretty low.

I respect your humanity. I'm just drawing a line in a different place in the sand from you. If this kid were in my neighborhood, I'd do everything I could to make him welcome. But I'm not going to change my mind: either we stop our tears and start standing up against the tide of "immigration for this" and "immigration for that" or else it won't stop. Hamtramck is already a reality. More are surely on their way. These are our problems. I beg of everyone to put half as much care into dealing with our crisis of culture here that they have on this thread for this heroic boy. We need our own heroes now.

Jeez. The kid is 13, and has no family. He has no family BECAUSE he helped the US and saved US lives.
I wager he's sacrificed more for this country at 13 than most Americans do their whole lives.

You aren't reading the comment to which I replied. The comment was referring to "people" who would help Americans. I know Steve-0 busted a 40 man cell led by his Father. My comment was to refute the precedence made by denying asylum.

I wager he's sacrificed more for this country at 13 than most Americans do their whole lives. That kind of thinking is what got us into the Hamtramck situation.

I do respect you risk, and I agree with you most of the time.
We will have to agree to disagree on this one.
As for Hamtramck, that nest of domestic terrorists, as well as out well-entrenched leftist menace will be promptly dealt with come CWII. Bet on it.
Stay safe.

I'd have to agree with Clee1 here. Those fanatics will kill him for sure unless he's able to move to distant relations. We can manage that. No more "Nams", meaning we should stop deserting people who risk their lives for us just because it's politically expedient.

" I think that helping us screwed up his life pretty badly, and that saying 'tough luck kid, but thanks for the intel' is pretty low"Is he helping us or is the US helping him?
Screwd up his life? Do you think little Steve-0 was having a wonderful time say 5 years ago? The whole country was under a friggin' dicator!

"I wager he's sacrificed more for this country" More so, he did something for HIS country! He can come and visit apply for citizenship, like every other Iraqi in the same predicament.
