Kerry Ad Falsely Accuses Cheney on Halliburton

Contrary to this ad's message, Cheney doesn't gain financially from the contracts given to the company he once headed.September 30, 2004Modified:September 30, 2004

Summary

A Kerry ad implies Cheney has a financial interest in Halliburton and is profiting from the company's contracts in Iraq. The fact is, Cheney doesn't gain a penny from Halliburton's contracts, and almost certainly won't lose even if Halliburton goes bankrupt. The ad claims Cheney got $2 million from Halliburton "as vice president," which is false. Actually, nearly $1.6 million of that was paid before Cheney took office. More importantly, all of it was earned before he was a candidate, when he was the company's chief executive.

All kidding aside, I think Kerry is one of those people who CAN tell the truth, but has such a need to be seen as right in every situation--something a lot of politicians have in common--that he simply makes stuff up without blinking. I don't think he and those like him even know they're doing something wrong--they think it's jsut words, and since they're GOOD, whatever they say is okay as a means to attaining power over the BAD people.

I call people like that pathological liars.
Not being flip....just calling e'm like I see 'em. :-)

What a LIAR Kerry is. They can't win with the truth. The TRUTH is on OUR
side. So they lie, and get help from the Liberal Media. Why does Dan Rather
come to mind???

Here is the FULL version of that.

Remember the Dems. motis operandi: It is the seriousness of the charge that matters. Lying and deceiving is just part of their character what little there is left.

Whatever happened to "Truth in Advertising"?

"Truth in Advertising" doesn't matter to dems, or their MSM enablers. In fact, the entire "seriousness of the charge" theme doesn't matter either, at least not when it's the dems... And this goes back decades... The best example being Ted Kennedy and his little "accident." It seems to me that the "seriousness of the charge" of being involved in vehicular manslaughter or worse would be pretty serious, but then the MSM probably felt that the punnishment of not being electable was enough. And let's not forget the collusion on the Senate Select Intelligence Committee, where the dems agreed to "appear" to support finding out what happened in the September 11th investigations for as long as it supported their causes politically, then to turn up the heat on the republicans? And it was dutifully ignored by the MSM, with the exception that some laws might have been broken when the memo was leaked?

When CBS is able to get away with reporting things that are proven to be false beforehand, and doing so knowingly, we're looking at a very ugly situation, right out of Orwell's 1984. Something that's really scary though, is that the MSM isn't controlled by the government... It's controlled by the DNC and other leftist organizations which are attempting to mold the government into what they want.

I wonder how long before CBS changes its name to the "Ministry of Truth?"

Mark

The most shocking thing of all would be if kerry told the truth about anything.

Kerry's people are banking on the fact that his voters have no idea what 'deferred compensation' is. If Cheney received income from Halliburton while he was Vice President, then that settles it. He's in their pocket.

In a word, Kerry voters are stupid, and Kerry knows it, and knows how to exploit it.

Why hasn't the RNC and our politicians made the point that:

Kerry has never owned his owned company, had to meet a payroll or participated in American's Capitalism!

Kerry has never run a state as governor!

Kerry, 20 yrs as senator, has never sponsored any major legislation!

Kerry, when given a prominent seat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, missed 70% or more of the hearings!

I'd love it if Cheney attacked Edwards for this ad tonight. He won't, but I wish he would.

Add:

Kerry, uable to finance his own elitist lifestyle, has to marry rich women that support him and his Martha's Vinyard lifestyle!

Bump. This is one lie that the Dems just refuse to let go. I don't know why, when it's so easily disproven.
