Kerry Ad Falsely Accuses Cheney on Halliburton

Contrary to this ad's message, Cheney doesn't gain financially from the contracts given to the company he once headed.September 30, 2004Modified:September 30, 2004

Summary

A Kerry ad implies Cheney has a financial interest in Halliburton and is profiting from the company's contracts in Iraq. The fact is, Cheney doesn't gain a penny from Halliburton's contracts, and almost certainly won't lose even if Halliburton goes bankrupt. The ad claims Cheney got $2 million from Halliburton "as vice president," which is false. Actually, nearly $1.6 million of that was paid before Cheney took office. More importantly, all of it was earned before he was a candidate, when he was the company's chief executive.

It's possible that the RAT lie about the $2 million relates to stock options that Cheney had and exercised. However, he donated ALL of the after-tax proceeds to three charities.

In addition, Mrs. Cheney has donated all of the after-tax proceeds from her two children's books to charities.

The RATs have no shame. And neither do the Kool-aid drinkers.

"Read and keep this, so you can forward it to all your "Cheney went to war for Haliburton!" whiny liberal pals."

I don't think it'll matter that much to the "Bush is Hitler" crowd. The libs screamed when Bush chose Cheney for his running mate in 2000. They whined, "He's a big wheel at Halliburton!" So Cheney divested himself of all of his stock so there would be conflict of interest.

The libs still weren't happy. "Cheney profited unfairly from his stock in Halliburton! There needs to be an investigation."

Now they still aren't happy. They're going to beat the Halliburton drum for all it's worth. Libs are happy if they're not whining. Gives their pathetic little lives a sense of purpose.

PREVIOUSLY, they got away with it because there was no Internet; and the media WAS "them."

NOW, they don't get away with it.

This current crop of Democrats may be the worst thing that's happened to this country since 9/11! Clinton started the "It's OK to lie" mentality, and since they know the Republicans REFUSE to make an issue out of it, Senators REFUSED to impeach, why not continue that methodology. They know most of the general public only hears the "charge" and not the follow-up.

The Democrat Party IS A MEMBER OF THE AXIS OF EVIL!!!!

For more than 60 years, during both Democrat and Republican administrations, Halliburton has a record of service to the defense of the United States. We built war ships for the Navy in World War II, and we recently supported troops in Somalia, Rwanda and Haiti. In the first Gulf War, we helped bring half the oil wells under control in Kuwait. Halliburton employees are prepared to meet the challenge regardless of the difficulties and risks involved.

Thanks for the links!!

Don't forget about the Kerry camp's new ploy that "a draft is being considered"....yes, by democrats in congress..Rangel, Hollings, McDermott, HR 163, Sen Res. 89. Dr. Bill Wattenburg was railing on this last night. His theory is the congressmen know it's not going anywhere, but the public is too dumb to realize it's the dems doing it not the Bush administration. He's mostly correct, because people mostly do not realize what it takes to institute the draft...congress...or what the powers a president has.

All kidding aside, I think Kerry is one of those people who CAN tell the truth, but has such a need to be seen as right in every situation--something a lot of politicians have in common--that he simply makes stuff up without blinking. I don't think he and those like him even know they're doing something wrong--they think it's jsut words, and since they're GOOD, whatever they say is okay as a means to attaining power over the BAD people.
