XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN OCT 03, 2004 14:05:38 ET XXXXX
DEBATE MYSTERY: DID KERRY HAVE CHEAT SHEET?
Section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns states:
"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."
So what did Dem presidential contender John Kerry take out of his jacket as he approached the stage [with his back to the auditorium's audience]?
What did Kerry place on the podium?
Video replays of the Kerry maneuver played all weekend long on the internet.
[A tight zoom of the Boston.Com feed shows Kerry pulling a mysterious "card" from his jacket. 14 seconds into video, after commerical]
A top Kerry campaign source explained to the DRUDGE REPORT late Sunday how Bush supporters were once again trying to distract.
"Kerry did not cheat," said the Kerry insider. "This is more lies from Republicans, who are hoping for a quick change of subject away from the president's performance, and the new polls."
Developing...
ROFL!
I cannot believe that this is going to be swept under the rug. Nobody is saying anything anymore about it. Grrr.
From your link:
"UPDATE Mystery solved: It was a pen."
Hid? I bet this has been the most viewed part of the debate of all time. And even from multiple angles!
I get it now. Make sure you post your explanations in the same posts as your pictures. (For those of us who only read captions... :-)
Welcome to Freerepublic! Pretty repetitive aren't you?
The saddest thing about you is your name; too bad such a great name is going to last such a short time.
Newbie hint: spamming threads with the same (stupid/boring/discredited) response is discouraged.
UPDATE: Mystery NOT solved.
Here's the deal, WT. Yes, a pen was pulled out of his pocket with his left hand, in the video you're referencing.
However, what was in his right hand? You can definitely see something in his right hand as he turns around the podium.
Fox only showed the dark pen being pulled out of his jacket pocket.
But he was fooling around with something else besides the pen.
I suppose it's a moot point, since Brit said that the republicans don't wish to pursue it.
So we're left with a presidential candidate who pulled a pen out of his pocket, in absolute contempt of the rules of the debate, and the pen he pulled out was a subterfuge to hide what he was doing with his other hand.
This man has been practicing sleight of hand, I'm convinced.
Mystery NOT solved.
But thanks for playing.
I don't understand. TexasBlueBell provided a link, I quoted DIRECTLY from that link and I am spamming? How so?
This has never been about Republicans pursuing the story. They should distance themselves from the story. This has been more about how the Pajama People can uncover fraud that the MSM is blind to.
The fact that even Fox chose to (deliberately?) focus on the wrong segment is very troubling.
It tells me that something's afoot.
Well, it looks like this will fade away. But even the pen was cheating.
1) I went to the FoxNews video on dailrecycler.com
2) From the full screen version, I captured 4 still frames
3) The frames were aligned.
4) Red circles were added for focus.
5) ABSOLUTELY NO OTHER ENHANCEMENTS, EFFECTS OR ALTERATIONS WERE MADE TO THE FRAMES.
6) The 4 gif frames were animated to produce the image here.
Others in FR have already observed this slight-of-hand. They have pointed out the right hand action timed with the left hand ("pen") action, but others have dismissed it. I think this animation leaves only one question:
What are you going to believe what the spinners say or your own eyes?
While most agree that the Bush camp, should not make this an issue, others should not be silenced by spin and verbal misdirection. What good is this new "alternate media", if the final decision is still left to the MSM. ( I tried viewing the 1,000 plus prior postings on this subject, and if others have done this graphic already, my apologies.)
The answer is simple enough. We have to get the MSM to go to the tape again - even though they didn't want to the first time.
I think Kerry was given the questions in advance, listed them with the talking points on the flip pad and basically read a script the whole time. It was full of contradictory garbage because that's what Dim policies are, but it was all there. Wouldn't we love to see a high-res overhead during the debate.
is the right hand going for the pen and the left has the paper. I truly can't tell. I thought the left went in the breast pocket for the paper.
To break the agreement for such a small item INVITES these questions!
I can't even imagine what's coming next -- it's been one thing after the other, and I could never have dreamed this stuff up in my wildest imagination.
(I guess my imagination isn't very wild, now that I think about it...)
How dare you fools say anything about cheating one's way out of combat duty, Kerry's medals speak for themselves, as do Bush's, or the lack thereof.
Your candidate is losing. I'm sorry you're upset.
Zot!
Where did you go? I miss you.
